Title: How My Song WOULD Have Gone
Post by: Steve in North Hollywood on August 05, 2008, 11:35:43 PM
I started "writing" this a while ago, even before the new developments with the potential mayors.  Figured Tom might be ready for it tonight.  Alas, he declined the chance to hear my golden voice.  BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.
(push play on the video, then sing these lyrics LOUDER than Freddy sings)

TOM
Ah aaaaaah
Savior of the airwaves!

TOM!
Ah aaaaaah
Better than the pay-ola slaves!

(spoken by Hot Rockin' Ronnie)
Seemingly there is no reason for these extraordinary Mayubinatorial withdrawals.
Only Associate Producer Mike, formerly of NASA, provided any explanation.

TOM!
Ah aaaaaah
He's a miracle!

(spoken, Hot Rockin' Ronnie cont'd)
This morning's withdrawals are no cause for alarm.

TOM!
Ah aaaaaah
Best Show on double-you eff emm you!

(bridge)
He's for every one of us!
Stands for every one of us!
He'll save with a mighty hand every man, every woman, every child, every Friend of Tom!

(spoken)
Philly Boy Roy: General Gorch!  Tom Scharpling approachin'!
The Gorch: What do you mean "Tom Scharpling approaching?"
Philly Boy Roy: He's on one o' nem Hawkmen Rocket-cycles.
Gorch: Open fire!!!  All chains!!!  Dispatch war-rocket Mike Sajak to bring back his body!

(chorus)
TOM!
Ah aaaah!!!

(spoken)
Timmy Von Trimble: Scharpling's aliiiiive!

(coda)
Just a man
With a man's courage, you know he's ...
Nothin' but a man, but he can never fail
No one but the pure of heart can stand up to Newbridge's Mayor
Oh oooh-oh ... Ooooooooooh Ooh-oh-oh

(spoken)
Jillian Barberie:  Tom!  Tom, I love you!  But we only have 14 hours til I'm due on the set of Good Day L.A!

TOM!

that's stupendous steve. i'm sorry you didn't get to sing it on the air, though there's a damn good chance tom wouldn't have let you get 1/3rd of the way through it though before everything went dead on your end.

Would you have done the PBR voice, or just described it?

Jason, this seems like an appropriate time for you to post that picture of you with your close personal friend, Brian May.

 Never mind, I found it:

Jason is clearly some sort of master of disguise.

It's a risk I'm willing to take.

Would you have done the PBR voice, or just described it?

I'd have tried my hand at it, just to save a little time.

Nice! That's what I was hoping.

Coming Soon: I reshape the lyrics to The Alan Parsons Project's "Don't Answer Me" to be more Best Show-centric.

Sample line:
"If you believe in the power of Paaaaaycheck, he calls from time to time
But if you need to believe in someone, you should prob'ly avoid my phone line ..."
