http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/142884-ted-leo-announces-fall-tour-with-against-me
A show in my home town! (and indeed, Against Me!'s)
Ticket is purchased.
Moment of triiiiiiiiumph time.
-
That will be a great tour! Against Me is a fun band to see, although me thinks it's going to be a different crowd than a normal TL show. I work Thursday nights but hopefully I can work something out to catch the First Ave. show.
-
No Knoxville appearance....DAMN YOU TED LEO
-
i was thinking the same thing: no TN, no AZ, no CA even.
could it be all the trash ive been talking?

nothing even close to Oklahoma. I might have to get up to Webster Hall
-
I will go to the show in Orlando.
-
Anyone else going to the Swamplands Ballroom?
I saw Kansas there.
Carry on...
-
I must go! Starland Ballroom! And maybe even to Webster Hall. It will be THAT good.

QUIT BRAGGING
GOSH

Uh, wait a sec.
According to Against Me!'s Myspace blog (http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=18625122&blogID=422135047), "more dates are going to be announced soon."
At least, I hope that means what I think it means. I'd rather not go to Warped Tour to see Against Me! and I'd like to see Ted Leo live. It would be cool if it came out to CA.

This looks pretty cool:

Josh you could always drive an extra couple of hours and come to the show in G-Vegas.
Venue's a lot (a LOT) smaller and it's AM's hometown, so it'll be a more killer atmosphere than Jamlando.
And I've got a comfy-ass couch.
Just sayin'.

Just to clarify, Teddy will be playing/talking for a very little bit (sans Pharmacists) as part of this program and then be part of a Q/A (I'm getting this event together). I can't promise free tickets to FOT, alas, but tickets are only $6 and you get beer and soda after. Sorry to plan an event on the big night of the arrival of H-Man.
We're hoping to post some of the event online after but that's always tough. Fingers crossed.

That's awesome, Senor - just bought two tickets. The other speakers look cool, too - I know a couple of Paper Tiger folks. Will you be there for a mini-FOT meetup? I look exactly like my caricature.
-
THAT'S THE LAST STRAW. I WILL NOT BE CALLED A BRAGGART AND HAVE MY NAME MISSPELLED. THIS IS WAR.
In the immortal words of another Floridian FOT, it is "Laying The Smack Down O'Clock"
And by that I mean you should be AFRAID. Just because I have not changed my avatar yet does not mean it is not going to happen.

I will be the one working the door and the "bar" and looking manic until about 8:35. There are about 8,734 things to do for these things. If there was only a way to get milkcrates out for the H-Man Listening Party. That doesn't sound right.

Until the tour reaches my shores... >:(
-
I am sad that I'm probably not gonna be able to go to the MoMA show. I like art and the chances to see a TL solo show (no offense to Big Steve, Little Jimmy and Count Violence, but the solo show is a different experience compared to a full band one which is always awesome) are few and far between.
-
So, how was the MoMA show?
-
no pictures...no stories...no bragging?

Yeah, all we got Tuesday night was the H-Man. Not sayin' nothin', just sayin'.
-
Teddy wasn't able to make it, alas. :'(
Something came up for him (besides, of course, the important debut of H-Man). I think there was mention of getting 30-something signatures "in time for the debate," whatever that means.
-
Some promoter just gave me ten tickets for Friday night's show while at was at the bookstore. sick.
-
Is it worth a Wednesday show? With an 8 am commitment the next morning? I love Ted Leo and would definitely go for an hour/hour and a half of that but I'm not sure about this Against Me band.
-
Against Me are OK, but if Future of the Left are opening the show you should definitely go down.

Heck yes. Future of the Left are great -- I haven't seen them live yet, but I saw Mclusky (RIP) a couple of times. I was on the fence as to whether I was going to get tickets for the show this Friday, but I think I'll probably have to, finances be damned.
-
I was out of town so I couldn't go to the Chicago show but he just announced a December show here so I'm all over that one.
-
Unfortunately the show was on a Tuesday night and not a Wednesday. FOT dilemma. Given that Tuesdays I am in school from 8 am til 6 pm I didn't really have the energy, especially with TBSOWFMY beckoning. I wish I had known that Future of the Left were a McClusky offshoot though.

Let's talk about how amazing Mclusky are (were) for a second. Here, I will start:
SO AMAZING.
How had I not heard of them at all until a couple of months ago? This sort of thing makes me feel cheated.

Crack my blog (http://areyougenehackman.blogspot.com/2008/10/all-my-accounts-will-be-settled.html) much?
Don't sound like you do.

I was fortunate enough to see them three times, once with The Fall, and they were excellent. I see Future of the Left as a natural continuation though, they're just not as straight-ahead face-rippers. McLusky were a huge influence on my old band and I got to know Jon (the bassist who formed Shooting At Unarmed Men, then emigrated only to reform the band in Australia) well just before the end. Lovely guys, but so is Kelson (who was in the mighty Jarcrew - check the clip beneath this) too and I hope anyone who went for Teddy Rockstar went down early for these guys.
