Wow, great video.

As a designer, this makes my heart skip beats. Mmmmm... typography.

That was great. I'm pretty impressed with the video. I really like videos that have a simple concept but still pull off the awesome.  And the Mountain Goats always make me feel good, even when they sing about sad things.

That song warmed my heart.

I just caught John Darnielle, Crispin Glover/Peter Hughes, special guest Kiki King, and Jon "Maximum Scruff" Wurster play in Denver last night.  John gave Jon a hoagie-related shoutout on stage, which made me smile.

The show was awesome.  You should go.  I've been to some boring shows recently (*cough* the Magnetic Fields suck live *cough*) and this show was refreshing.

Later dates-
18 - Salt Lake City, UT, In the Venue
20 - Seattle, WA, Showbox
21 - Portland, OR, Wonder Ballroom
25 - Los Angeles CA , Troubadour
26 - Los Angeles CA, Troubadour
28 - San Diego, CA, the Belly Up Tavern
29 - Tucson, AZ, Club Congress
31 - Lubbock, TX, Tequila Jungle

November
1 - Austin, TX, Antones
2 - Dallas, TX, Granada Theatre
3 - New Orleans, LA Republic
5 - Chapel Hill, NC, Cat's Cradle
6 - Washington, DC, 9:30 Club
7 - Philadelphia, PA, Theatre of the Living Arts
8 - Brooklyn, NY, Music Hall of Williamsburg
9 - New York, NY, Webster Hal

You've piqued my interest yesno, since the 21st is just next Tuesday in Portland, how highly do you recommend this show?  The Wonder Ballroom is a great place, so I would be open to going there to seeing a good show.  Last show I saw there was Morrissey, who I thought still rocked the house!

Even John Darnielle is getting in on the Wursterisms.

I saw JW drumbing for them Mountain Goats on the last tour and it was a pleasure.  Highly recommended.

Not to mention that John Darnielle is one of the best lyricists of our generation.  And I mean that with 100% sincerity.

He is one of the best drumbers around.  In fact, he drumbs on many CDs I have, and I don't have a single Superchunk record.  Jay Farrar, AC Newman...

For those of you not on my Facebook "My son Andy is currently, right at this moment, at a Mountain Goats show in Asheville. We both thought that Mr Darnielle was doing his "Me and another guitarist" set, but in fact, Mr Jon Wurster is there rhythming things up. This could well be the closest any member of the fromKnoxville family ever gets to any official member of the Best Show production team. THINK GOOD THOUGHTS TO BRING THESE TWO TOGETHER. I suggested on Wurster's Twitter that maybe he could wipe his sweat off on a towel, or Andy's shirt, and Andy could bring that home and like christen me with it. Or something. Anyway, exciting."

Dave,

Maybe, suggest buying a record or something and having him write you a note or something. Andy could ask him to rub it under his arm, perhaps.

Love,

Fredericks
