? and The Mysterians start their Coney Island High show off with these two scorchers.

I shot this at Coney Island High in NYC. Jan 17, 1998.

Captain PJ (longtime Wormtown rock deejay and fanatic) must have been in attendance with his bag of puppets in tow.

I saw the same tour when it came through Cambridge. Lyres and The Fleshtones opened up. Great, great triple bill. The Mysterians were using Paul Murphy's drumkit, which had a lyre painted on the kick head. Seeing the Mysterians (I think the drummer was Q's son) sharing the equipment always stood out in my mind as a nice symbolic vindication of bands like Lyres as garage torchbearers.

Thanks. This show it was the Lyres and the Swingin' Neckbreakers, both of which I have posted the videos from that show.
