Pre-order it from chunklet.com
TL does Rock n' Roll Dreams'll Come Through on it.
-
pre-order it at chunklet.com!
Teddy Rockstar plays Rock 'n' Roll Dreams'll Come Through on it!
I think you have to buy something else with it though, since it's only 5 bucks. Forgive me if someone has already made mention of this.
-
im curious to hear what AD Miles will be doing on the ZG track.
-
made mention
What are you, Tom in early 2001?
-
"Up in them guts" thats Zachs spring break song from Dog Bites Man.
-
It's that song from Dog Bites Man, right? I love that song. It's actually on my iPod.
-
Yeah, with Fiona Apple singing on it. It's a good tune. "If you show me your fanny pack, I'll show you my fanny."
-
I would like to know more about this.

I would like to know more about this.
-
I pre-d it.
-
Does anyone know if the Ku-Klux-Klan episode of Dog Bites Man ever aired? It was referenced by the actors in several interviews and sounded really good. Why does Comedy Central drop the ball on so many potentially great original series?
-
Moved/consolidated from other thread:
Warning: in order to get this 7" you have to order some other piece of junk from the repellent Chunklet catalog! (I ordered Chunklet #20, which I will set on fire upon receipt!)
I would like to know more about this.
I hear it comes packaged in specially market boxes of a cereal called "Chunklet."
I got one of the Patton CDs, and a t-shirt ("I'm Overrated", which I will wear once and then claim it's overrated).

they have to save room for shows like Carlos Mencia, the Bob Saget roast, and the stand-up of Bill Burr (aka Titus Jr.)
-
that reality show spoof with michael ian black commands airtime!
(no it doesn't, it's horrendous)
-
Wait, something with Michael Ian Black is horrendous? Surely you jest!
-
other than The State (and projects involving members of The State, i.e., The Baxter, WHAS, etc.), Michael Ian Black is a comedy crush i held out too long for.

I liked his CD.

No way. I was surprised at how much I liked it. It was pretty funny and some of the comedians on it were great. Chris Fairbanks!
Also, the Ku Klux Klan episode of Dog Bites Man never aired. I really wanted to see Alan Finger ask the Grand Wizard if he saw Big Momma's House 2.

Though I disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Chris Fairbanks was a delight. Theo Von, not so much.

Agreed, and agreed again. Hopefully that episode will see the light of day at some point.

Nope! Much like Spike, I don't do moderation.
-
Oh. I thought b/c you consolidated the threads and had a million stars under your name that maybe you had admin privileges.

did anyone order the yellow or red vinyl? i thought about doing the red, since there are only gonna be 100 of them, but how can you resist that picture disc with zach's huge, bearded mug right on it?

I had the same thought because I really hate picture discs. But I decided it might be the best choice in this case (although I'm probably wrong).

I'm not a huge collector nerd- my record buying philosophy skews pretty strongly in favor of whatever looks coolest.
-
Also, I just noticed the "terlet" here (http://chunklet.com/splash2.cfm).
-
I ordered the red because I generally like the way red vinyl looks. I also hate the way picture discs sound.
-
Red vinyl reminds me of roller skate wheels. I wish I ordered it now.
Since I doubt I'm going to be spinning a comedy 7" more than a few times, though, the decreased sound quality of a picture disc doesn't bother me too too much.
-
With the picture disc it looks like you get a diagram of the characters in Rock n Roll Dreams and a terrifying picture of Zach. Although I've never noticed any decrease in sound quality before, the picture will makes it worth it.
-
I pre-ordered my copy w/ Gen. Patton's "222" CD.
-
yeah!! i just got mine!
hey Chunklet thanks!! and thanks for sending me a ticket the Mastodon show that i cant go to, anyone want it?
and by anyone want it i mean if anyone has a time machine and would like to travel back in time to last week to see the show... unless they have a different type of calendar in Georgia. im unsure how it works. i have however been to Athens and liked it.
-
Mine came today with some extra swag too. Can't wait to sit on the turlet and read words of wisdom from PFT - what? Don't judge!
And hey, a PBR joke is in there too!
-
Yes, it is great. I just got done throwing away the issue of Chunklet #20 the 7" came with.
-
I got my order today but no 7". :-[ Hopefully it was just a packing error.
-
I just got mine today. The TL/Rx song is amazing as usual, and "Up In The Guts" seriously creeped me out (and made me laugh).
Fanny packs...
-
Mine came today as well- I got a bonus DVD.
-
I just got done throwing away the issue of Chunklet #20 the 7" came with.
Well done, Tomas! The issue is horrifying -- much worse than I expected, and I expected it to be the biggest piece of s-hit ever.
-
And to think I just insanely happy that three of my jokes were in the "What's the difference between Paste and a bucket of shit?" list.
I thought the world finally thought I was as hilarious I think I am.
I guess not.
-
got a free dvd and a mastadon/posehn show t shirt. Pretty neat.
-
wow sounds like some of you made out better with the free stuff than i did! i only got that no good ticket and a sticker.
up in your guts, is something very special.
-
to be fair, i ordered like 5 back issues and the rock bible book.
-
i thought about getting the rock bible, was it worth it?
-
just got the package last night, so I dug into issue 20. I have yet to get into the rock bible, but I will say its design is aesthetically pleasing.
-
I got a free DVD and issue 18 in my package plus a couple of stickers. Sounds like I'll be getting the missing 7" sometime soon.
-
the paper sleeve is too big on the 7", it won't fit into the plastic.
-

Really? This magazine is no good? Or is there some sort of complicated irony at work in these posts?
-
Henry Owings is a very talented graphic designer! I think I even heard somewhere that he was nominated for a grammy.
edit: the magazine does stink, like Omar says below. It's mostly lists of things.

No irony. It stinks.
-
I will say this: it takes forever to read!
-
I have never seen an issue of Chunklet but hearing about it reminds me of the Grand Royal. Any similarities?
-
issue 20 is a bit list heavy, but I'd say its pretty darned hard to find more bang for your buck.
-
I have a hard time dumping on it, because I like Henry and his choice in comedic friends (and he was really nice to me when the CoC were in Pittsburgh last year), and it ain't like there are tons of other magazines giving Jon Glaser page-time. But then you read a question about beardcum, and read these pissy "me likey" lists about funny words for farting or tearing into bands these guys shouldn't even know exist or pay attention to anyways... and it makes me dislike the people involved (even if I laughed at a few). Catch 22, big time.
The PFT article has some good stuff in it, although all the comedian interviews would have been better served on podcasts or as videos, or anything but print I guess.
I'd wreck Owings' shit at whirlyball though.
-
There is a pretty great Scharpling and Wurster full-page ad in this issue, though.
"THERE'S STILL SOME ROOM ON THE BUS!"
-
yeah!! i just got mine!

Was it for the Oct. 11th show? I got a ticket for that show in my package today.
-

if your friends think youre an elitist when it comes to (live) music, then youll enjoy this book.
writers note: i dont consider myself elitist, but apparently, i am. its not my fault they dont know the "rules" (i.e., you dont wear the band's shirt to the show youre going to, you dont listen to the band youre going to see on the way there, however, on the way back is okay)- not things i considered "rules", per se, mostly stuff i never did because it felt stupid.
-
What were the different sleeves that came with this? I know my friends got a "hardcore" sleeve with a Negative FX rip. I don't think mine came with one, although hearing that the sleeves are too big makes me think I should check my package again.
-
which mastodon show? i'll take it if it hasnt happened yet...
-
I just got my picture disc. There was a mix-up with my order and I received a different CD than the one I ordered, but the good folks at Chunklet corrected the problem and sent the right one.
The new version of "Rock and Roll Dreams'll Come Through" is absolutely stellar!
-
The new Chunklet also has a PBR jokes column. The interviews are good. But a magazine made up of lists still sucks.

huh, maybe i should get it then.

Yes, it is. I haven't smiled so much during a song in ages. I think I need another one.
-
yeah, it's a pretty cool 7".
i agree about chunklet. i mean, i still like it, but it is so fucking pretentious sometimes. really? you're shitting all over this band that no one has ever heard of from cleveland or some shit? who cares? but then, there's like a 7 page interview with paul f. tompkins and an interview with jon glaser, and there's some other interesting things in the issue...i mean...it's just like any other magazine. sometimes the articles are stupid, but there's a lot of good stuff in there too. take everything with a grain of salt, you know?
here's what i'm wondering though...did i see something said about a sleeve for the 7"? i got mine and it was just in a clear plastic one, is that what everyone else got or what?
-

I got a 7" sleeve and no record, so I guess if we marshalled forces we'd be in business.
-
Chunklet is the epitome of "thinking about shit too much."

Think about where you're typing this.
-
your sleeve doesn't have anything cool about it right? that's all i care about. if i'm missing artwork or inserts or something, that would suck.
-
The sleeve does have artwork, but it also says it's an edition of 100, so I guess not all of them get a cover. Or maybe there are different covers? This one's labelled as the HXC sleeve.
-

Mine says the same thing and I got the yellow vinyl which was limited to 200 I think. Perhaps there are more than 100 of this sleeve or 100 random 7"s got this sleeve.
Did anyone else get the yellow vinyl and have drops of black swirled in? I'm not complaining as it looks pretty neat.
-
Has everyone already received theirs? I'm still waiting for mine :(
-
I got mine today. Listened to it - very good. I might prefer TL's acoustic live version of RnRDCT though.
I got an issue of Chunklet and some stickers as bonus.
-

Did you get the picture disc version? If so, that's probably why you didn't get a sleeve. Picture discs are usually packaged only in a clear plastic sleeve. I ordered one of the colored vinyl versions.
-
yep, that must be it.
-
Evan Davies played TL's song on his last show -- late, at about the 2:40 mark.
-
The new Chunklet also has a PBR jokes column. The interviews are good. But a magazine made up of lists still sucks.
I'll go out on a limb and say that this issue of Chunklet is probably the most entertaining issue of any magazine I've ever seen.. I don't think there's anything in it which I don't wanna get around to reading at some stage! It's a beefcake of a read. I likes.
The Rock Bible is funny too.
-
Horseraces, de gustibus, etc. But Chunklet is no Gene Simmons Tongue Magazine.
Come to think of it my next issue of Tongue is about 5 years late.
