Title: Friends of Tom at Sundance 2007?
Post by: elisaWA on December 18, 2006, 04:25:42 PM
If anyone is going to Sundance I would love love love to meet up. I'm a former Jersey-ite living in Seattle.
I worked on one of the competition films (called Zoo, about a horse sex ring in Washington state) and am going out
there with a little group. I don't know any FOTs out here in Seattle so I figure a few of you from around the country (or world?) might be at Sundance.

My name's Elisa and I've been listening to the show basically since it started. Rabid fan.

Yeah, what can I tell you. It's a documentary, we didn't make it up.

I'm a new FOT and I'll be there and funny enough Zoo is the top on my list of movies to see.  Hope to see you at the screening.

ciao,
Unlovable Frank

Did you get to see any action?
Why don't you ring Tom to talk about it?
I'd find it interesting even if nobody else does and I don't mean a sexual interest.

I was just relieved to learn that the horses were pitching, not catching.  Of course, they wouldn't have died if they'd been on the receiving end, but still . . .  As it is, they'll still probably be in therapy for years.

Hi all - well, the last cut I saw, there was some "tasteful" (hah) horse-on-man action (after you've seen it, there's no turning back) - but they may be cutting that for the screening, I'm not sure.

Frank - I would love to meet up when you're there. I dont have tix to anything yet. Just wingin it once I get there.

I emailed Tom about it but I didnt hear back. It's possible it freaked him out. Which is understandable. :)

I might be too shy to call about it. :)

yeah , I don't have tix to anything yet, waiting for the individual public tix go on sale and then cross my fingers that I can get to see Zoo.

Same here - that online tickets thing is a total crapshoot though. Well, if I cant get much I'll just watch Slamdance films. A lot of them look pretty good. Most of what I want to see is probably not the super-popular stuff anyway. I dont need to see the latest Dakota Fanning film.

I'm going to help promote a film we need funding for while I'm there.  So any films I watch will be bonus.  I forgot to check the Slamdance list, thanks!  What was your role in the production?

Cool - like to hear about your film. I was mainly on research on the whole thing - like zoophilia, the people involved, all the sordid details, and also collecting news clips and radio clips about the event. I was on set quite a bit doing whatever was needed also, and location research and scouting.

So how long before Kevin Smith devotes a section of his website to this film?

The human capacity to come up with some seriously f**ked up weirdness never ceases to amaze me.

He'll talk about the film for two hours at some college and release it on DVD as An Evening of Interspecies Erotica with Kevin Smith

Yes VB, me too. God, I miss that show.
Wow - Friend of Tom in Dublin? COOL.

Mrs Doyle: There's always time for a nice cup of tea. Sure, didn't the Lord himself pause for a nice cup of tea before giving himself up for the world.
Father Ted: No, he didn't, Mrs Doyle!
Mrs Doyle: Well, whatever the equivalent they had for tea in those days, cake or something. And speaking of cake, I have cake!
[holds up a cupcake]
Father Ted: No, thanks, Mrs Doyle.
Mrs Doyle: Are you sure, Father? There's cocaine in it!
Father Ted: WHAT?
Mrs Doyle: Oh, no, not cocaine. God, what am I on about. No, what d'you call them. Raisins.

Looks like we fucked up and didn't get our tix in time.  Guess we'll be online like all the other assholes.  I hope we can get last minute Zoo tix.  did you get all the tix you wanted?  Are you going to be there the whole time?

There's an interview with the director of the horsefucking movie at Radar's website (http://www.radaronline.com/features/2007/02/zoo_interview_part_1.php).
