How do you guys quote part of a reply? I've tried it, but I can't get it to work right.
-
exactly - how did you do that. I've tried many times, but can't get it to work
-
btw, satchmo, who is Monika54? She can't spell to save her life!
-
Sorry, dumb joke.
There should be a quote button at the top right of whichever post you'd like to quote.

hit the "quote" link to the right of your relevant post.

hey samir - I can do that, but then how do you just post part of the quote? do you need to go into the reply and delete what you don't want to show up? Is there a difference between PC and Mac in the forum?

I don't remember why or how I found this, but ALAS, I did!
Also, Samir is far more articulate than me!
Also, yeah, just selectively delete parts that aren't to your liking.

yep.
-
thanks satchmo and samir
I think I have it now. Satchmo - that is some "cereal-isy" crazy stuff on that link you sent - check out Lizzie's long-winded post, I think you'll enjoy it!

yep.
You may also want to highlight certain words that you've quoted, press the strikethrough button, type new words next to the words you just did the strikethrough on and then, beneath the end of the quote, type "Fixed!"
This is considered the highest form of comedy.

Thanks for all the help!

I'd like to throw one more question out to the posting vets.
How does one turn a word or bit of text into a hyperlink?
I see the Insert Hyperlink button but can't figure how to make it all work. ???

Here's one I always have to search for an example of, to use. What is the code to link to a realplayer clip, while specifying both the start and end times of that clip, so it only plays the segment you want?
It's been easy enough to find examples with the start time code, but only once in a blue moon does someone put the full stop and start code up. Considering that I always lose the example when it's posted, it'd be great to have here!
