This guy's turning his interviews and Zogby poll data into an upcoming movie: "Media Malpractice... How Obama Got Elected"
http://howobamagotelected.com/
-
Hilarious, verbatim interview:
http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2008/11/interview-with-john-ziegler-on-zogby.html
-
This maniac was also the subject of David Foster Wallace's Host.
-
John Ziegler is one of the biggest crettens to ever walk the Earth, and his column on the death of DFW is one of the most disgusting things ever written.
-
"I'm not a fucking idiot." - JZ. We'll agree to disagree on that, you fucking munch.
-
My favorite response: "I think anyone that looks rationally at these poll results would have to conclude that Obama voters are incredibly poorly informed about major issues that occurred during the campaign -- my guess is because McCain voters got their information from different types of media than Obama voters did."
He admits he only polled Obama supporters, yet from this he magically infers that McCain voters are better informed and speculates that this is because their sources of information are more reliable. Clearly, this is a fine mind at work.

Remember when the liberal media got Kerry elected?

He should have at least spoken to my Fox News-addicted mother, who was consistently able to pinpoint Obama's radical (and innovative) socialist-Muslim leanings.

Yeah, that was just unbelievable. Take TE out of the hate pit and throw this creep in.
-
I can't figure out how to link to it, but at http://www.johnziegler.com/, after the ad for his "Blocking the Path to 9/11" documentary there is a probility chart that is just asinine.
-
NS: Would you consider yourself well-informed
JZ: I’d consider myself extremely well-informed.
NS: Who are the two senators from South Dakota
JZ: Thune and, uh, Johnson.
NS: Very good. South Carolina?
JZ: Go fuck yourself. I'm done with this interview if you're going to ask me stupid questions like that. Obviously I know who Lindsay Graham is.
Hahaha

Hello?!?
Yes, a fine mind at work, but he's clearly angling for some appearances on or employment by Fox News.

That was AWESOME!

Wow, I completely didn't connect that it's the same guy until now. I already thought he was awful based on each of these incidents, but I double hate him now.

This guy is really bringing dishonor to the Ziegler family name.
-

My Fox News-addicted mother had this to say: Obama's wife looks "militant."
Her explanation of why the election turned into such a landslide: If it was closer, "they" would just riot.
It is really numbing to feel such disassociation and disconnection from the people that gave you your DNA.
-
My Fox-addicted dad says Obama is against the 1st amendment in some way. I can't remember exactly what his reason was. I started blocking things out when he said George Bush was in Iraq to help Iraqis and that he "had a good heart".
-
My mom still says Iraq's WMDs were "moved to Syria" just before the invasion. Ironically, she also likes to rail against "conspiracy theories" and "leftists" who merely "regurgitate things they read on blogs".
We try not to talk about politics these days.

There's a rumor that he supports the fairness doctrine (which really was a bad policy) even though he said he doesn't. And even though the majority of Democrats don't. Any dumb thing any Democrat says gets attributed to Obama.

I know! I have a friend named John Ziegler.

Brimstone Howl anyone?
His cousin's a swell dude, too.

Yes, a close relative I admire greatly didn't vote for Obama because he's a "dirty Muslim" and a Communist.
It hurts, it really does.

"I'm not stupid, that's why I got elected President, man."
-
Wait, I don't know anything about Barney Franks either. I think I better go unvote.
Also...
my g.f.'s dad is a lunatic who thinks that there's going to be a socialist race war or something. But my g.f. and I both see some kind of poetic positivity in that her generally awesome 94-year-old Uncle didn't live to see this day and to be freaked out and racist about it. People over ninety generally get a free latent-racism pass from me, but it would've been pretty awkward. I would've felt bad for him. Racists under 90 get put on notice.

I almost feel guilty for not having politically insane parents. Not even a crazy uncle.

Me too, ever since Obama told that story about his grandmother (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/taylor-marsh/obama-grandmother-typic_b_92601.html), badmouthing your older relatives has become so fashionable. I have nothing to talk about at parties anymore.
-
All my grandparents are dead, but my grim and disillusioned seventy-six-year-old mother and almost eighty-one-year-old father (birthday Saturday!) were both as happy and relieved to vote for Obama as two of the grim, disillusioned daughters they raised (the third only voted for Obama because I bullied her into it--she wanted to write in Kucinich [yes, she's a tad nuts]). It is particularly delightful that my father really likes Michelle Obama.
Yes, I'm bragging.
-
I know lots of people asking this in a joking fashion, but I'm being serious:
Did Ziegler forget to take his medicine?
-
My parents, Democratic Iowans, (respectively) were down with Obama and Clinton early in the primary season. They were so happy to vote for Obama. It's nice that they share my politics, but that's not absolutely necessary. I'm just relieved they are not crazy old bats with bad politics running through their veins. Yes, I brag.

That's what denial is for.

I still love my dad to death and we always get along really well. Because we never talk politics. We literally had our first (and hopefully last) long conversation about politics the day after the election. I've always avoided it. I think he does too... most of our family is democratic. I think he got really scared and changed his political views a lot after 9/11. It makes me sad but I still think he's a kind person.
My mom did vote for Nader this time around... she was just so tired of hearing my dad talk about McCain and me talk about Obama, that she voted third party.

Man, I always thought your parents would be "Up With People!" kinda people.
-
Because of my sunny outlook on life?
-
Yup.

The great thing about this election is that now, I don't have to give a shit about what the people who are completely ignorant (and I don't mean the ones who weren't aware that Obama was going to destroy the coal industry (wonder how many conservatives knew that cap'n'trade was also McCain's policy)) have to say. And I'm including my own father and other family members in that count. This is a generational gap and a culture gap, and we are winning, all we have to do is just continue to use truth to marginalize the people that would rather fight teh librulz than promote the general welfare.
Just make sure the Secret Service encloses Obama in a giant bubble when he gives his speeches, keep him in that gigantic tank thing they're building for him (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/10/obama-presidential-car-ar_n_142700.html?page=5) and let the grownups work. If Democratic policy fails, it fails, but even then, it will create a Republic that isn't run by the people who know how to engage the paranoiacs and the haters.
