Title: Videos from Comedy night at MoMA - Thunderant, YouLookNiceToday, more!
Post by: senorcorazon on December 17, 2008, 02:35:56 PM
Hey everybody,

I'm planning an event at MoMA with Max Silvestri -- we'll be screening a few silent era comedy shorts, as well as video responses by comedians. It's $10 and there will be free beer and soda, too. Here's the info: http://moma.org/calendar/poprally/upcoming.php

I'm able to guest list a small number of people, so if you want it, PM me! I'll draw names of people (if needed) first thing tomorrow morning and let people know.

I know, how dare I plan ANYTHING on a Tuesday night. I will pledge my weight at marathon time as penance.

Just wanted to share videos we just posted from ThunderAnt (Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein), Max Silvestri, and You Look Nice Today. We should be adding some of the other filth-pot ones.

Apologies for the self-bump, but I still have a few free tickets if anyone is interested.

Please return to misquoting movies now. That thread is killing me softly.

Only a goofball would miss this!

Unless you live in, like, Sweden or something. Then you may be a goofball, but you have a legitimate excuse.

Tri-staters mobilize!

Another event outside of Knoxville?

I like the idea of an angry DFK laying waste to Manhattan.

Hear me and my voice modulator explaining it on WNYC (about 7:25 in):

I only mention it because I thought it was funny that the producer was Andrea from 7 Second Delay!

AND ALSO THOSE WHO DO NOT ATTEND, CALL IN LIVE TO THE SHOW! Keep up the 2009 awesomeness with stories of Thousand Fights and more.

this sounds like it might be interesting. According to a September 2008 article in Artforum, there are a handful of visual artists who have expressed the desire to cross-over to a more mainstream (read: 'authentic') audience via stand-up comedy.

And it was reported by WFMU's Benjamin Walker!
And WFMU's Rob Weisberg is listed as a contributor on that page!
And if you're looking for something to do after MoMA Comedy night, swing on by the Guggenheim for the FREE 24 hour event on the Concept of Time! (http://www.guggenheim.org/new-york/press-room/news/2509)

I shall cherish this, Bobo.

Yes Emily, Benjamin pointed out that EVERYONE in the room worked at WFMU in some respect.
