Title: 2009
Post by: Martin on December 31, 2008, 08:43:01 AM
Happy New 2009, FOT! Thanks for being an awesome bunch of people.

My apologies if I'm starting the festivities a bit early - I blame the time difference. It's close to 3pm here already, about time to get this NYE show going!

2008 was great, 2009 will be even greater. For you, for me, for TBSOWFMU.

Swedes are so progressive, they even start their years before us.

Happy New Year Martin!

The only thing I hate about New Year's Day is that it reminds me of how reserved we are as human beings when it comes to dishing out hugs and generally being decent to the people we encounter every day. I would like to sincerely wish everyone here a splendid 2009, wheteher you are an old hag like Andy or Sarah or someone that is just getting their feet wet here at the FOT board. In either case, I hope to be a friend to you all in a world of internet trolldom. Happy New Year!

Aw, you're sweet, Forrest.  My first "hag" of the year.

Hope this one's a good one for all of us.

Sarah is too nice to be a hag.

May 2009 be bigger, better, and more prosperous than 2008 for one and all* in the FOT World.

I just ate breakfast and man was it tasty. Nothing better than getting a late start on a new year.

Happy New Year FOT's!   :-*

I choose to believe Forrest meant it kindly, samir.  To me, anyway.  He was probably struggling not to say something worse about Andy.

Yes, it was meant to be a shout out to a couple of members with astrological post counts. I have always been a big fan of Sarah. I have gone on record, though, that Andy is a Grade-A Meany.

And anyway, you're more of a harridan than a hag.

;)

(The emoticon means that my comment was also meant good-naturedly.)

That's better.

In any case, how can you be sure, yesno?  I may be both.

Also, Forrest, I believe you meant "astronomical."  (That's how a harridan does it, kids.)

The word is astrological. It's means like having to do with outer space and stuff. Crack a science book lately?

It's 2009, man. We don't need science.

'ought nine is off to a great start; made cinnaman buns, watched Transiberian, jogged by the lake, used up some gift cards and now I'm waitin' on a big old pot of blackeyed peas to quit simmering.

Uh, Whatever year it is we still need science if only to keep people in line.
Like religion.

Happy New Year everyone! I will always remember 2008 as the year I discovered the Best Show. That alone makes it a success.

May all of you become powercallers this year, and none end up in the hate pit (though I suppose that would kind of ruin the fun).

So long, tacky New Year's glasses...I think.

No way, next year they'll use the two 0's "2010" as the eye holes & they'll have a smaller 1 for the bridge of the nose.

This is a pretty good thread, with many of the better qualities of the FOT on display. As a starter for the 2009 year, I'd say we're putting our best collective foot forward. As long as the other shoe doesn't drop. (Is this a mixed metaphor, or a consistent one?)

Happy New Year everyone!

Isn't the loss of novelty glasses the basis for that whole 2012 thing?
