Nothing makes me happier than hearing Tom tear into these monsters of dubious talent. So who's the dumbest?

Kid Rock is just awful, ICP might be too but then they add make-up on top of that. Advantage, Juggalo.
-
I would consider ICP more of a threat on the stupid front. Kid Rock's popularity has waned while ICP has had this suprisingly large creepy fanbase for years that shows no sign of going anywhere. Kid Rock's music is nonsense while ICP music has a wierd violent streak.
-
ICP are willingly fuel for nightmares - Kid Rock is unintentionally so. Kid Rock is stupidest.

Somehow Detroit remains legandary for its music scene. These two acts, plus Ted Nugent, Eminem, and Jack White cancel out all former greatness tenfold. I say we should leave this dying city and its rusty cars in 2008.

The juggalo baby funeral says more about the fans than it does about ICP. I have to say the award goes to ICP if we are judging by audience. Just a gut judgment. I have not actually administered the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale to a sample of both audiences.

Holy fuck @ that video. Wow.

I just watched that video - and immediately flip my vote to ICP. Yikes.

should it be "who is stupider?" or probably more correct "who is more stupid?" since there are only two?

That video just completely ruined 2009 for me

I got a kick out of that call. Wow.
I still think Kid Rock's stoopider. I don't know much about ICP but aren't they kind of shticky - like WWF? Kid Rock is just an idiot. He thinks and then says things that are hallmarks of an idiot.

Thanks to this thread, I've spent half the evening researching ICP stuff online, like this hilarious FAQ -
http://www.insaneclownposse.com/page.php?page_id=icp_pr_interview
6. Is ICP aware of the term "juffalo" or "juggahoe" used to describe "fake" or "posing" juggalos? What do they think about the use of the term and the term itself?
While we certainly appreciate our fans' loyalty to us and to one another, we must reiterate this statement: "There are no 'rules' to being a Juggalo." If one fan feels another has betrayed or wronged him/her personally, that is for them to resolve. We judge individuals on their own merits, regardless of their music preference. If someone is doing something a fan would rather avoid, than our advice is to avoid it.
7. What is ICP's advice to juffalos?
If you need to hate on Psychopathic music to feel good, or for attention, then you still need Psychopathic. Embrace it or forsake it, don't waste time with anything less. Life's too short.
8. How serious does ICP want their fans to take being a juggalo?
As seriously as they take anything that interests them or brings them happiness. As seriously as our artists take recording and performing it.

Yeah, the ICP fans are definitely more despicable, but I think Kid Rock is stupider. ICP have a great scam going, and they know it. Kid Rock actually believes he's a talented musician and entertainer.

As much as I hate both these garbage scows of culture, I'd have to agree that ICP have built their empire on their terms, so you could argue that they embody the indie work ethic more than just about anyone. (ed. I do not make this argument).
What keeps me up at night is thinking about all the juggalos that are going to go to become 'healthcare professionals' and wind up taking care of me when I'm too feeble to run.
-
Kid Rock doesn't spray sticky-ass soda all over every fucking venue he plays.
-
there is nothing I want more in 2009 then to hear an ICP/juggalo related Best Show call.
-
That video....yikes. I think that baby died from the future years of embarrassment she was gong to suffer.
Speaking of health care professionals, my wife is a family nurse practitioner in a pretty rural town. She sees patients like this all the time. Not knowing you are pregnant until six month in? That is a standard. I am not kidding. Some of the stories she comes home with are downright frightening.
As far as the question goes, I really couldn't say. Losing shame medals all around. Give some to their fans while you are at it.
-
Is this about that guy who's a cowboy?
Baby.
-
Yeah, because the Early Morning Stone Cold Pimp hasn't cultivated his new white trash image to a T too. The guy was a failed white rapper for the first 8 or so years of his career. Once he figured out those certain types of people (ahem) who like his country schtick music will fall for anything, he went with it. So in that argument at least, ICP and him remain level.
Kid Rock may be a joke to us, but the guy still sells records and gets awards and guests on talk shows and stuff, there is something to be said for that - maybe not much, but something.
I disagree with the ICP building of an indie empire on their terms thing though too - those boobs just sell t-shirts and bobbleheads like anyone else, they're not doing anything special. They barely pack 100 seat clubs with 19 year old diabetic cutters, they're hanging on by a deluded string at this point. And again, also face paint.
Why do I suddenly feel like Trembling Eagle after posting this?

As much as I appreciate this thread, I think "Who's the Stupidest" needs to be changed to "Who's the Most Talentless". It is hard to measure stupid without an equal test.

ICP trying be a touch more middle of the road stupid.

Who're the 2 dudes towards the end of the video with the black eyes?

That lineup could cancel out any city's claim to a heritage of musical greatness. I already forgot what Motown was, aside from Diana Ross Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson. Maybe you're right, Forrest.
In spite of all the stupidity it has generated, somehow I really feel sympathy for Detroit these days.
-
Both Kid Rock and ICP might be stupid, but I can pretty much guarantee that they have worked their asses off, which is something that I respect.
Given the choice, if I was offered a free ride and ticket to either an ICP show or say, an IMA Robot (http://www.myspace.com/imarobot) gig, I'd take the former and have a blast getting sprayed with Faygo and experiencing a crowd that is absolutely rabid for the music rather than just another bullshit aloof scene fashion show that is much more about the digicam pics of yourself posted the next day.
Before I go and bash either of these acts (which I have done, many times) shouldn't I really be asking myself: What the fuck have YOU accomplished today?
truth be told: the final song on Shangri-La/ The Wraith (Thy Unveiling), in which ICP reveals that the Dark Carnival is all about God, and the accompanying video put a real smile on my face. Maybe I'm just a big dummy.

-
If you want to see a goofy band that sprays shit on the crowd, go see GWAR instead. Funnier, better loved, corn-syrup-free band.
-
I couldn't make it the whole way through the baby video. I could see where it was going and I couldn't deal with it.
I would say Kid Rock is dumber because I think his stupidity seems more sincere. ICP are definitely idiots but I don't know how much of their schtick is a cynical put on. At least some of it is, I'm sure. I'd bet they're fully aware that their music doesn't have to be at all "good," even by their low standards. It's fully an image/lifestyle thing, which is despicable and nauseating but takes some degree of savvy.
On the other hand, I'm pretty confident Kid Rock thinks he's the greatest. And that makes him really stupid.

I think it's more important to consider what they've been working for than the simple fact of their hard work. Lots of people work hard towards repugnant goals - I don't respect that one little bit.
It's true that maybe these guys have "accomplished" more than I have, but I think that what little I do accomplish is making the world marginally better rather than substantially worse.
-

I think my whole argument was just destroyed by this, damn.

This would be the perfect time to post a link to the born-again christian juggalo forum that I saw a few years back. Looks like its vanished from the face of the internet though.

Everybody backslid into the crack-addiction phase of the cycle...just wait a while.
-
I'm somewhat persuaded by the argument that Kid Rock may be stupider because he thinks he is destined to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with "the greats" (or, at least, his idea of who "the greats" are*), whereas ICP seem a bit more aware of what they're doing.
However: in any contest of stupidity, shouldn't the person or persons who enjoy "backyard wrestling" ALWAYS win?
I think the two very different but incredibly potent forms of stupidity here cannot be quantitatively compared. It's dumb apples and dumb oranges.

I'd go with ICP because 2 months ago I spent like 2 hours reading their Wikipedia. It's sad that historical figures have less detailed entries than ICP.
How much would you have to be paid to attend "The Gathering of the Juggalos?"
As for Kid Rock's country shtick, since when does living in Michigan for your entire life make you a Southern Good Old Boy?

1. I'd go to the Gathering of the Juggalos if I could go for free and for less than an hour, with no other hassles (e.g. parking, travel to wherever-it-is... looks to me like far downstate Illinois, which I have never been to and don't care to see). As it is, my price would probably be about $5,000.
2. It doesn't, but that won't stop plenty of people from trying. You know, the "northern rebel" douchebags with their confederate-flag paraphernalia and possibly truck nutz, etc. Just move to Alabama if that's what you're really into.

Lay off Alabama. I have lived in Michigan for college and Birmingham, AL. I ran across a lot more racist rednecks and "country boy" FWD's in Michigan -- and I also heard of more Klan activity there, too. Yeah, Jackson, looking at you. Not to condemm either state. Both are filled primarily with good, nice people but, no, Kid Rock's persona is not extreme for Michigan. Outside the cities and a few towns, it is mostly farms. And everyone hunts.
-
Fair enough about Alabama, I admit. It was meant in the unfair but completely joking spirit of Tom asking southerners if there was a klan rally in their town today.
And what you said about parts of the rural upper Midwest is really true -- plenty of rednecks and confederate flags, as difficult as it is for me to understand.
-
Thank you for not saying Tennessee. Although they would fit in perfectly well here.
I heard that Tennessee is joining the EU soon?
