im going to be in LA, arriving the 23rd, leaving the 25th...and i need some suggestions of things to do. i love visiting LA, and i do it frequently, making it overwhelming to decide what to do.
im going to the fri or sat UCB Jr. show (FOT meetup welcome).
i loved the museum of jurassic technology.
i loved griffith observatory/park.
i go to shows, been to the theatres, etc.
besides personal suggestions, are there any websites that might help with little known things to do?
thanks for your help.
your pal,
The Baron

PS i'll also take suggestions from people who have visited LA.
-
I always check http://www.lonelyplanet.com/ when visiting cities. I get the book if I'm going to stay long enough.
-
thanks, yesno. this is exactly what i was looking for. im still open to further suggestions, if anyone is willing.
-
go see Targets at the new beverly cinema at midnight on the 24th
-
i heard from an LA friend of mine that Peter B. might be there...?
-
i also heard that the hollywood bowl has rehearsals very early in the morning that are open to the public for free.
does anybody know if this is true.
-
because i wont let this thread die and im really interested in meeting up with LA FOTs, ive been talking behind the curtain with a few of them FOTs from lipstick city who are interested and announcing a public invitation.
there is no location or time yet- if you would like to meet up, post here and we'll all figure it out.
-
alright, ive reserved tickets to see ASSSSCAT on sat. jan 24th @ 8pm.
any and all LA FOT are welcome to join/reserve their tickets and we can meet up before and/or after at Bird's (suggested more than once), which i believe is right next door. i think.
so far, we've got 2 or 3 FOTs meeting up.
join the fun!

Like Michael McD once said, "yamo be there."
-

I don't know if I've ever checked General discussion before. So, to answer the question/taunt that you left on my facebook wall: "No, actually I don't check it much. Don't jeeeeuuuuudge!"
See you guys on Saturday.
P.S. I wore my Get Ready To Meet My Little Friend shirt to the Human Giant/Crash Test show on Monday night. Paul Scheer knew what it meant. Rob Huebel ... still uninitiated.
-
Yeh. It didn't sound like ya do'd. General discussion's where it's at.
-
Show Discussion. General Discussion. We don't need all these labels, man! Show unread posts is the place to be!
-
Man, good point. I've never done that. But I will now.
-
Seeing Andy Daly at the Improv, so I can't make ASSSSCAT, but I'm going to try to make it over to Birds.
-
You missed it, Jouster!
-
you truly did.
birthday presents, benjamin franklin, and the speculation of hugman and myself that the interesting fellow who didnt have "enough room in his mind for everything" was john frusciante.*
*possibly drunk.
-
it was him. fo sho. to be less cryptic, if anyone's seen assscat, then you know that Matt Besser usually warms the crowd up by making fun of people. on this particular night he happened to be making fun of aforementioned red hot chili pepper. And I don't think he know'd it.
But yea, good times. We missed you Jouster. Even though I don't know you.
-
i dont think he did either. and yeah, it was him...definitely. unfortunately, he deserved every bit of ribbing besser served.
i still stand by my statement that he should call into the best show and let tom have at him. ew boy.
-
I very much enjoyed his young ladyfriend's expression: she didn't know what to be uncomfortable with: her famous boyfriend being singled out or the fact that nobody realized he was famous until they got all awkward when Besser asked him what he did.
-
...while we echoed a resounding, "ew boy" to ourselves/each other. good heavens, it was a weird one for the books. im going to blog about it!
and i almost forgot that hugman rubbed elbows with a gentleman who likes to role play to get into hotel rooms. yeesh.
