Does Tom's twitter novel count since it's not a physical book?
Anyway, I don't think this was posted yet, but Eugene Mirman's got a book coming out called the Will to Whatevs.

"Hi Paul,
I'm wondering if you will be in town on Tuesday the 10th of February and if you would be able to perform at my book release party at the Bell House in Brooklyn that night. So far, Kristen Schaal and John Oliver are performing. It would be wonderful to have you, because of how funny and charming you are. If you can't, no problem. But if you can, it would be wonderful.

Eugene's book is called, "The Will To Whatevs".
Also appearing on the show are Johns Hodgman and Oliver. Sarah Vowell is DJing.

you had me at "Sarah Vowell is DJing".

You had me UNTIL "Sarah Vowell is DJing".

I agree with the last post except that I will totally be there. I am currently steeling myself to bear 30 minutes of They Might Be Giants.

Guys, I'm totally gonna go up to Sarah Vowell and ask her to dance with me. And then she'll be all like "no" but then she'll think about it and then maybe as a joke she'll want to dance and so she'll put a long song on and we'll start to dance and then it turns out she'll be really into it. I haven't planned out further than that, but I totally bet it'll work.
For real, guys.

Ramsobot, if that works you will be my GOD. Except, I'll hate you, because I'm in love w/ Sarah Vowell. So yeah, it'll be just like my God now.

I hate it when I can't tell if someone is serious on message boards.

Ramsobot, it may just work. A few years ago a friend of mine and his brother went to a benefit for McSweeney's and S. Vowel was offering shoulder punches to people if they made a small donation. Basically, you would go up, pay your fee and Sarah would give you a nice little punch in the shoulder, a kind of, "nice job, pal" kind of thing. This got my friend's brother to thinking. He turned to my friend and said, "I wonder if I can get a 'Donkey Punch' from her instead". My friend turned beet red (because he knew he wasn't joking) as his brother went up to stand in line to see if he could get his special request. When it was his turn, my friend said that he could see his brother say something to Sarah, who then shrugged her shoulders as if to say, "why not?". His brother leaned over and Sarah tapped him in the back of his head with her fist. He said thank you and left and she went on to the next donor.
True story. Good luck, Ramsobot!

Sarah Vowell is DJing.
I hope she will be showing off her scratching skills.

I've heard she DJ's a lot like Biz Markie. Very old school.

Ah, TiMBuG will be fun for 30 minutes. A three-hour set, no.
-
I will be at this! I plan on cracking open some sodas with Eric Charles Luxury and any and all FOT that might make appearances.

I hope she plays nothing but the pensive bed music they use on This American Life.

Its strange how much they use Papa M's album "Live from a Shark's Cage" on this show. It seems like they use it every week.
