I heard a rumor that Letterman was going to replay the famous, never-aired Bill Hicks appearance, and it was going to happen at the end of this month. Anyone else know anything about this?

from letterman's web page:
Friday, January 30
Mary Hicks (Stand-up comedian Bill Hicks' mother)
i guess if his mom's coming on the show then you are correct. i never found bill to be laugh-out-loud funny - or as controversial and edgy as the legend surround his career would lead us to believe - but he was an interesting guy who had a real knack for putting things in perspective. i liked him a bunch. the supposedly "offensive" abortion bit he did that offended the pro-life crowd so much that the spot was pulled is actually embarrassingly tame if i remember correctly. it would be neat to finally see it though. thanks for the coat pull

After all this time, with all the build-up and anticipation, the payoff is unlikely to be worthy. Still, I'm a big Bill fan so I'd love to check it out.

i'm almost positive it's his whole "pro-life people shouldn't block the doors to medical clinics - they should join hands and block the entrance to cemeteries" bit. i could be wrong though. will tune in friday to find out.

I was just reading about this, like 2 seconds ago. I'm really excited to see what his Mom on there, should be a good interview.
