Here is a truly home-made video featuring my hometown. If any other FOT's have music videos explaining the town they are from please post them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xfLLjQurJs
-
This isn't home-made and it's pretty terrible quality AND it's like 25 years old... but it still probably does the best job.

I don't think there have ever been any music videos from my hometown. Instead, my hometown produced Ashton Kutcher. I'm not proud of this.

This one is awesome because its a rapper trying to tell y'all that you don't know our Toronto hip hop slang.

His style is off the thermostat!
PLUS he's comin' from the cold. Yo.
-
This is great you guys. Jeremy, can you post a link because the video you posted wouldn't embed. Thanks.
-
Sorry about the terrible quality but it's all I could find:

I think MTV showed it, like, once.

This is a vanity project by some rich kid that goes to Queen's University, here in Kingston:

Apparently she got $1 million to make a music video as her 18th birthday present.

If I was born across the river I'd be flaunting all kinds of Husker Du(de) vids, but I'll have to "settle" for these guys, who broke up a few years ago. They at least get the bonus of being named after one of the more notorious streets in STP.

There certainly are worse things than having to settle for the Selby Tigers.

AC/DC. Filmed many years ago, but still the best Melbourne clip. Bagpipe solo!

Rolling Stones video filmed in my hometown of Ottawa, Ontario.
I've actually played this club in the past. I heard they 'dressed' to make it extra 'gritty'.
I also regularly now refer to Ottawa as the 'Streets of Love'.

the only band I could find from my hometown were these dudes, 10-fold, who I think are mostly Iraq war vets who play nu-metal.
from their website:
Amidst the contrasting landscapes of local scenery, sleazy tourist traps and smokeless bars in Providence, a burgeoning metal scene thrives alongside the overly tanned, the white trash and the elderly. The extremes of the local sunshine and image of perfection projected upon the outside world, contrasted with the gritty reality of the blue collar lifestyle, inspired 10 FOLD to conceptualize the reality of the everyman with their prominent up-coming new metal album "What Comes Around,Goes Around".
When 10 FOLD started, the airwaves were full of bands like Blink 182 and Greenday. At the time, 10 FOLD decided to start a band that would express a different side of emotions. Influenced by a wide range of music, both past and present, the band began perfecting their sound, which has been described as being an aggressive blend of groove-stocked heavy metal and melody-rich rock and roll. Heavy yet catchy, the record is a confident, explosive statement for a freshman recording.

If you are so inclined, you can go over to the bass player's MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/brotheronion) and check out some of their other videos (which tend to feature a lot of war footage). I think this tune might be the single from the new album.
Song Description
The song "Sleeping Giant" is my American statement to every "militant jihad-jackass" Muslim on the planet that tries to commit an act of war upon American souls. We will go to great lengths, cross huge oceans, and chase them to every corner of the earth with our drones, satellites, GPS guided bombs & missiles. On December 7th, 1941, Japanese Admiral Yamamoto stated, "I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant." This time, our enemies are so insane, I don't think they have ever read a history book. Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it. This song is not meant to be politically correct, and if you are offended, then you are obviously not an American. My mission is to play this song for every allied soldier worldwide as a rally cry to keep us on track, and let them know why we are fighting today.

It's always the bass player, isn't it?

Actually, two more. Both of Andre Ethier's videos are extraordinary.

Funny story about Mr. Ethier: As you may or may not know, a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball troupe shares his name with the rock musician in question. Someone in the Dodgers organization found out about Musician Ethier, and liked his music enough to fly him in to sing the Canadian anthem at Dodgers Stadium when the Toronto Blue Jays were in town. (Lisa Loeb sang the American anthem).

I am a huge A. Ethier and Deadly Snakes fan. Deadly Snakes are my favorite inthered artist ever. Andre's third album kind of stunk tho. There is (was at least) a clip on youtube of Andre at Dodger Stadium.

There sure is! A very nice rendition.

I liked the Snakes a whole lot too; their drummer, Andrew, is a great guy. Incidentally, a number of years ago he managed a movie theatre, where the employees would play the game "Don't call me chief." (The idea being to get the customer to say, "Don't call me chief.") When someone asked to speak to the manager, he would win the game by saying, "I'm the manager. What seems to be the problem, chief?"

A couple of friends from back in high school (who still live in my hometown of Columbus, OH) made this video for the Ohio Film Music Challenge. I guess Swiss Army Mouth is a real band.
This is a pretty accurate depiction of the relationship Ohio State fans have to Michigan.
