"Set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, the show has been described by Lucas as 'Deadwood meets The Sopranos in space.'"

Ugh. I am already dreading how dumb and widely discussed this will end up being.
Discuss.

You know that word that Tom hates which that one punk dude uses as his last name too? That's what I think this news is.

"Deadwood meets the Sopranos in Space."
So there will be a lot of potty mouth ethnic/reginal sterotypes shooting off laser beans?
-
Doesn't the Clone Wars cartoon cover this time period? If so much interesting stuff takes place between III and IV, why not make that into a movie instead of trade disputes and....
/goes back in time to kill George Lucas with a shovel

I think this sounds awesome and i'm totally going to subject myself to it if its not.
maybe it's masochistic at this point but I can't help it. fuck all you haters
all jokes aside, whats up with the sopranos/deadwood comparison. those are pretty heavy shows to draw inspiration from for something thats long sold itself as a kiddie franchise. is this star wars taking a more adult turn? personally i'm into it but it just seems like a strange move.
but then again we have a grown up president why not a grown up star wars?

It just means they're going to say the f-word a lot.
I'm sure it has more to do with drawing comparisons to successful dramas "with an edge." Plus, maybe they want us to pay for it...?

I hope they dig up all the half-shaved heads and weird mohawks that the post-Jedi cartoon DROIDS had. All those New Wave hair colors made outer space more real to me. Is that what Lucas wants to hear? You care about continuity at the cost of quality, right George Lucas?

I'm actually more interested in what happend to the Ewoks... that made for TV movie just didn't provide me with enough answers. Just like "Return to Oz."

I saw the Star Wars Christmas Special live. Even though I was very young, I realized that George Lucas was off his rocker. Even if he's ashamed of it now, HE GREENLIT THAT THING.

I hope it is more like this:

Yeah, there were a lot of LONG Wookie only conversations in that thing. I sort of liked it when Chewie didn't really have much of a backstory...

Also, that Star Wars Christmas special was even worse than that Legends of the Superheros special.

no, the jedi of the 21st century would have black hair he straightened before setting off to tatooine, maybe some eyeliner? possible sleeve with alien coi fish, etc.? and he'll reminisce the days when light sabers were double-ended.
-
So the "future" of the Jedi universe is sort of like Mad Max. Only with action figures and playsets?

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me seventeen or eighteen times consecutively, shame on me.
