I know August is very passive... BUT THIS WAS A BEATDOWN! It wasn't even close. I found myself feeling sorry for Petey? August didn't even acknowledge the thrashing at the end of the call. That's professionalism (or Dr. Strangelove).
August.
FOT Hall-of-Fame Nomination.
NOW!

it was a classic best show moment. it seemed like they were on completely different planes. august was sharp as ever. petey has often been dopey during his calls but yesterday was a new low.
-
August is a wanker. And I'm not saying this because I'm Petey's sister.
-
August totally dismantled Petey. Petey didn't even realize he was being insulted. August rope-a-doped him, letting Petey dig his own grave with his babytalk tomfoolery. Then August comes back with a cutting rejoinder using his trademarked passive delivery. Effortless. Coldblooded. Petey was out of his league and folded like a cheap camera. Petey needs to get his game together if he's wants to take another run at August. Get with the program brougham.
Result - August by a mile. Petey got trounced.
Can't wait for a rematch! :o

In Petey's defense, it's difficult to respond to attacks that you can't hear. Maybe August should use an adult phone and give his Fisher Price Talk and Play™ a rest.
-
Petey: Hey August.
August: Hello.
Petey: You wanna fight?
August: Um... is there really a reason to?
Petey: Uh... I guess if you wanna like...
Petey was shut down in quintessential August fashion. It was a blowout. No contest.

To me, it's not even a competition. Petey and August are apples and oranges: they function on different planes, from different strengths. August is dry, reserved, cerebral; Petey is creative, playful, and improvisational. Right now, Petey's only weakness is that he is more self-conscious than he used to be (this, I think, is just because of where he is on the adolescent curve; August, being a little younger, is not yet in the grip of the same angst). And even during the so-called battle, Petey got off some responses that were quite zingery, just on such a different level from the one where August is firmly planted that they didn't register.
That said, much as I like August, Petey will always come first in my book.

I really enjoyed this analysis. I think if the rest of the nation were familiar with the players here, and read this, we'd start seeing some positive radical changeS in this country.
Also, I have this icky feeling that if anybody's doing any "wanking," lsdeimos is probably some sort of champion.

Aw shucks.

I think Petey is a brilliant and super ambitious young man and should be applauded for doing all that he does.
August, don't really feel like I know anything about him, but I have to say he got some serious zingers in during the fight.
SO point to August for defending himself when attacked, I do still think the world of Petey.
-
Also, let's remember that the topic was feuds and Petey was staying on topic. He got crushed, but he should at least be applauded for staying on topic.
-
they're both so cute!
I think they both win.
-
Petey is clearly in flux right now, getting more self-conscious, modifying his identity. August holds his own right now, but will probably understand what Petey's going through in a few years. Both of these fine young men are several hundred times cooler than I was as a kid... which probably makes them several thousand times cooler than I am now.

It was almost as if the thing was planned. I was somewhat surprised that August actually called in to match Petey's challenge- I thought he wouldn't try to get confrontational. So glad he did, because what followed was priceless.
Another thing that got me rolling on the floor was when Tom went "Chocolate is for... cavemen". I thought it was the funniest thing to say about chocolate.
