I created a group on the Yahoo NCAA Tourney Pick 'Em called Friends of Tom. I invite everyone to fill out a bracket.

I just filled out my bracket. Name is Oakland Zookeepers (I'm a Pitt grad).
-
I did one too. I predict that my predictions are bad.
-
I'm in. I didn't watch many games other than the Gophers this year.
-
Just signed up as The Newbridge Nudge.
-
I'm in! My handle is hypemastergeneralsean. Driving the lane. Go Me!
-
why does my work block EVERYTHING?! so annoying.
-
fun! i am in as the rusty shackelfords.
-

I could only get in by going here first http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/t1 and then selecting the group, maybe that will work for you?
-
I am in. My bracket is entitled something like "dfk and his march to victory". Hip hip hubris!
-
I'm not a homer at all. I just picked my alma mater to win the championship by a 20 point margin.
-
Who's your alma mater?

I fixed the link in my original post. It should take you right to the sign up page now.

Who's your alma mater?
Oklahoma. If Blake stays healthy and they can get some production out of Willy Warren, they've got a shot.
Next year should be exciting. We have 2 McDonalds All Americans coming in, which will put us with 3 (assuming Blake leaves, which he'd be crazy not to.) The thing that I hope is that this momentum will be enough to keep Capel here until an elite job comes along. I know he's not staying forever, but it would be nice if he waited 5 years for an elite school rather than jumping to an Illinois or something.
And this year is the first year I haven't been to a single game. I had season tickets for 8 years, but with work and grad school I just haven't been able to keep up.
-
I'm in this to win this.
-
I picked my alma mater, too, but it wasn't too difficult. So did about 25% of the country.
-
This is the first year in a while that I really didn't pay much attention to the regular season at all. I want to just fill it out without any research and see how much better I do than when I overthink it every other year.
Who am I kidding, time for research!
-
For the record I watched zero games and did zero research. I will either win famously or turf out from the start.
And I am OK with that.
-
Seems to me that Duke has a smooth road to the final four. Every time I've watched them this year they look overmatched and yet win handily. I can't pick them to beat UNC though as much as I want to.
-
I would have picked my alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh, to win it all. But I couldn't do it. Their success depends entirely on whether or not DeJuan Blair can stay out of foul trouble. And I don't know if they'll get favorable refs.
-
I am in and I am "Bleh!" It was either that or Roddy's baby Betty.
-
holy shit. they are beating up on Blake Griffin. It blows my mind that (even in the heat of the moment) anyone could think that they could get away with flipping Griffin over their back. It blows my mind even more that Blake was calm enough just to get up and walk away, not even looking at the guy to give it a chance to escalate.

That was one impressive flip. I remember seeing Len Rossi do the exact same thing to Tojo Yamamoto at a professional wrestling match when I was a kid.
From the Friends of Tom bracket board, I am pasting my shame to here for all to see; The hard truth is this; if you had simply flipped a coin to select your picks in the first 17 games (counting the play-in game, which I also missed,) you would have had approximately a 17% chance of doing better than I have done so far.
I so suck.

I know you are all big rodeo heads. My undergraduate alma mater can't be fucking beat:

That's right, we--and I mean WE even though I don't go there anymore or know anyone who does--have the 10th best woman's rodeo team in the entire central rocky mountain region.
BONUS picture of the 1976 White Sox (since we're talking "sports")

Those uniforms are some of the worst things human beings have ever done.
My grampa used to take me, my brothers, and my cousin up to Cooperstown every couple of summers. The Hall of Fame used to have this display case of horrendously ugly uniforms (I don't think they called it that, it was just Uniforms of the 70s or something).
Those ChiSox monstrosities were included, as were some real 70s doozies from the Indians and Giants. Back then, I think MLB required all uniforms to cause seizures in epileptics.
When I was 10 years old, I thought this weird collection was hysterical. Sadly, I went back to Cooperstown 2 years ago and that display is no longer there. *sniff*

Those shorts were hideous. But you have to give them credit for trying something different. On an unrelated note, this is my favorite baseball picture ever.

The great Dick Allen, who should have been in the Baseball Hall of Fame years ago.

Yay Siena
Boo Wisconsin
Yay Marquette
Boo Michigan
Can The Regulator expound on his strategy for early round wins?
-
What a finish to the Siena-Ohio State game! I despise Ohio State and the fact that they lost in Dayton made it that much better.
-
I'm tied for first, but won't be for long because I have my home team, West Virginia, going to the elite eight. Whoops!
-
West Virginia is going to be really good, probably as soon as next year. So that wasn't necessarily a bad pick. Dayton was just better for that game. That's the thing about the tournament, your team can't have an off night. Pitt, my team, almost lost to East Tennessee State.
-
I can't remember the last time I did this badly with my picks. I feel like my team (Badgers) trying to make a shot against Xavier. Not gonna happen.

Oh, for the days when baseball players didn't even try to keep themselves in shape.

That's amazing. I like any pics of the late great Dock Ellis.
Cardinals pitcher Josh Hancock was keeping the old school tradition of smoking Marlboro Reds, drinking whiskey, and getting high going until he drunkenly/highly smashed into a flatbed tow truck and killed himself. That was horrible.
-
Back to tourney talk, I did a blind pick and the only of my four teams still in it is Kansas. But the team I'm actually cheering for, Mizzou (University of Missouri) has looked fudgin' good. In the Mizzou vs. Memphis game, I think it's a pretty safe bet that the Tigers will win. Anyone want to bet otherwise?

Dock Ellis performed one of the great feats in baseball history. I will always have respect for anyone who is able to throw a no-hitter while under the influence of LSD.
-
I feel bad. Now who is Jay Wright going to talk to?

I started a group on Yahoo. If anyone is interested in participating, click the link below.

Do you mind if a few of my friends jump in this league, if they label themselves "from knoxville"? If it's a problem, I will start up another group.

Not at all, Dave. Anyone is free to join.
-
I know almost nothing about college sports, but I'm in.
-
Still looking for more participants.
The winner of the pool receives their choice of either:
an autographed 8 X 10 glossy photo of Billy Packer
or
a Starbucks gift card with $3.76 remaining.
-
Filling out my bracket now.
-
Mine's done. Now I get to do "research" and change a bunch of my initial picks so that they are wrong.
-
I'll gladly join this evening with my Cunning Stunts. If my wife peruses the USA Today tournament guide in time I will add her Team Colors & Mascots entry as well.
