The WFMU Marathon Finale was held at Maxwells in Hoboken NJ last night. This was the first one I had ever been at and I had a great time. It was also the first time it was open to the public. I took a night off from my bar and it was well worth it. It was great seeing the many FMU personalities performing their fav songs.
Of course Tom Scharpling blew the roof off the place with his rendition of Bob Seger's Hollywood Nights.
Here are some pics from the night.

Tom with A P Mike.
In the end the station collected well over a million dollars exceeding last year's goal. And Ken Freedman noted to the crowd that the Best Show broke all previous records even exceeding Nacham's AM Show. That is no small feat!
-
Awesome post, Mr. Boulevard!!
Looking forward to the videos.
-
Is Mike drinking Newcastle Brown Ale there?
-
I like how Mike is leaning in toward Tommy Tornado and Tommy Tornado is leaning away from him.
-
Thanks for the pictures! It looks like a ton of fun.
I cannot wait for the videos!!
-
Tom is as sweaty as I expected him to be.
-
Any video?
-
I had no idea Terre T was so hot!

I am so impressed. This is fantastic news! Congratulations, Tom and team!
-
I look forward to PM in the PM (Palestinian Moments in the Evening).
-
Thanks for all the pictures, Harold.

Not only is she hot, but hot with a capital H. Too bad Hotness doesn't really help her out in her chosen medium.

"Rock and Roll Nights"?
Do you mean to say "Hollywood Nights"?

"Rock and Roll Nights"?
Do you mean to say "Hollywood Nights"?
Yes, that exactly what I mean. I wasn't sure of the title. Not a big Seger fan. Tom killed it though, top nitch performance.
-
I'm not a big Seeger fan either, but SEGER is okay.
-
Thanks for keeping me on my toes. I went back and corrected the errors.
-
My friend was down with his car that weekend so we we knew we had to go. It was seriously a great time and getting to thank Tom for all the work he puts into the show was a big plus. We even got to grab pre Hoof & Mouth food at Mike's Acme.

Since he played both Rock & Roll Never Forgets and Hollywood Nights, Rock & Roll Nights actually works as shorthand.

Did you get anything from the deli counter?
-
The creepiness in this thread is totally tubular.
-
I'm just offended that no one's commented on how hot I was up there yelling "Detachable Penis."
Thanks for bringing me back to "Totally Tubular," Tomas. Last summer I actually started saying it for "creepy" which led to much confusion and hilarity.

JG, was your co-host doing a fake voice when she did her song or is that actually her singing voice? I only ask because it was weird-sounding and very different from the speaking voice she uses on your radio program.
-
Yeah, she was kinda going for a thing, and I think she regretted it after seeing how the rest of the Hoof & Mouth went (though I liked it). In fact she has an excellent and unmistakable singing voice -- she sings on many of the audio pieces she makes, and I've seen her sing live in at least one play.

To her credit, she kept it going the whole time, which is why I wasn't sure.
She wasn't the only one to use a funny/fake voice, though, so she shouldn't regret too much.
