I was surprised that Richard Bey still has a talk show.
-
Looks like Bruno's getting involved in a belt-whipping league!
-
does this still appeal to anyone?
maybe its just me but I thought this shtick was tired even when he did Borat.
-
yea, i found it hilarious when he was messing with fashion people (hitler was coo), but as far as goading homophobic rednecks? it doesn't really have much bite to it. Bruno would turn just about anybody into a homophobe if he bothered them enough. The whole idea of "if you don't accept my obnoxiousness as charming than you just don't like gay people" thing doesn't help much to "win hearts and minds" in the fight for marriage equality (which I have been participating in).
That said, I'll probably see it on DVD, and I'll probably laugh some.

I will watch it just to marvel at his guts.
I mean, I get anxious if I have to return an item to Target.

Especially a gay item.

Oh man you guys. Remember how funny it was when every single idiot you knew did terrible Borat impressions for two years after that movie came out?
I'm pretty excited for all of those people to start doing their best "gay" voices now.

Yep. Still appeals to me. I think it looks hilarious. I don't really care about the "social satire" angle, I just think he's funny, and as yesno points out, totally fearless.

UH-OH, looks like a lot of people are about to get BRUNO'D!
-
the "we're looking for a locksmith" bit looks pretty funny

I didn't feel like clicking on the AV Club link, so for the past few days I've seriously been thinking that this was a new movie about Bruno S. from Stroszek. I'm actually kind of disappointed.
EDIT: like 8 comments in, a few people on the AV Club thread say the exact same thing. So I guess this is not quite so amusing/unique of me.

Do I need to be familiar with Da Ali G show to appreciate this more? Because I don't think this looks funny at all, and I wasn't sure if perhaps I needed more background.
