Title: Things that will always be funny

I felt like this topic from the Mike Show didn't get a fair shake on air, and I was reminded of it this morning, when I saw a family trying to take a nice family portrait while two of the younger kids howled furiously.

...and I instinctively started lol-ing. I laugh anytime I see toddlers or babies shrieking. Ugly old schadenfreude, I guess, but it's always funny to me.

Another thing that has been funny every time I see it is a crude graffito on the sidewalk in a wealthy neighbourhood. It depicts a cock'n'balls, with a couple of squiggly pubes, and a dotted pee line coming out. It's right in front of a grand old house, and you can tell that the owners have tried, unsuccessfully, to scrub it away. It's so childish, ugly and dumb, but it makes me laugh every time I walk past it.

Why, yes, I am a childish jerk, thanks for noticing!

That was a good topic and I had a story -- Seeing Powerful People Like your Boss Fumble at Simple Things

I was working at a large company that had its cafeteria redone. When the cafeteria reopened, it went cashless. You had to get an ATM-type card from HR to put cash on it and reuse.  After it had been opened a while, I saw one of the company bigwigs (who had a reputation for being a hothead)  down there ahead of me on line. He was trying to pay for a sandwich with the cash, and the cashier kept explaining to him that he needed to get a card to put money on it. The exchange went something like this:
Bigwig: But I have cash.
Cashier: No, you have to get a card.
Bigwig: Can I buy the card here?
Cashier: No, you have to go to HR on 23.
Bigwig: But I have cash.
Cashier: I am sorry.

That's one of my favorites. So is locking the door just as they try to open it. And it's always funnier if it's raining. Especially if they have their hands full and drop everything!

But my favorite is when they are soaking wet, giving you the nastiest look because they just dropped all of their groceries, and they think you've learned your lesson. Then you do it again! It's as funny as the banana knock knock joke, which also never gets old!

Whenever I need a pick me up or a good laugh I envision that old video footage of Motley Crue concerts during which Tommy Lee is drumming furiously in that flying, rotating drum set. Utterly ridiculous and always makes me laugh.
