Anyone seen them on this tour? I'm trying to decide whether I'll check them out tonight (at the Entry in Minneapolis). Should I expect the older stuff or is he promoting the upcoming album?

I was thinking about going tonight as well but decided against it for the same doubts you have. Plus, I'm going to see Todd Barry next week and probably shouldn't spend money on another show.

Hey, I was at that show at the Entry. Some of the set was really similar to the last time I saw Watt, before the Secondmen opera. The covers are so great. I'd never heard them do We Are Time and the 2/3 Husker Du reunion was a surprise. Does anybody know what the first couple songs they did were? The first one started with "one, two, surf's up..." The stuff Tom Watson sang is great and his guitar playing was incredible. He sounded a bit like Mascis that night. I like Watt a lot and I try to go see him whenever he tours. I never saw the last opera, but I would like to see this next one.

I guess that song was maybe surfin' with the shah?
They did more songs than this at the Entry and they joined Grant Hart for his last song (I don't remember what it was) and then for an encore Grant Hart and Greg Norton joined Watt for Little Johnny Jewel.

If they would have just played about a month ago when Bob Mould was in town maybe we would have seen a full reunion? Yeah, right.
