Title: Best Show Echoes in Real Life
Post by: LaunchCode on May 27, 2009, 09:03:03 PM
One of the things I love most about the show is that Tom's monologues often steer me into cultural side streets I'd never have come across on my own.  I'm not into current music, so was delighted to impress my 16 yo daughter when I casually referenced Death Cab a few months ago-- things like that.

Last night it happened again... I was barely focusing on the television when I heard it...looked up...saw a 70s car flying down a highway... beginning of "Play Misty For Me", the old Clint Eastwood pic... accompanied by "Pacific Coast Highway" by the Mamas & Papas!

Alas, don't know if movie soundtrack also included "Blueberries For Breakfast"...

Anyone else have these "Best Show hijacks Real Life" moments?
