I started this post just so I could say that I ate at the Fargo Rib Fest.
It was good but gross because I shared some cheese curds with a co-worker and felt a little ill.
The "Hotter than H" hot sauce was a totally disappointmen as I covered my whole sandwich in it expecting to breath fire. It was more like ketchup with a hint of tobasco even though there was a red siren light on top of the cooler dispenser. I have a picture if you need a visual.
What did you have for lunch?
-
Leftover pizza I made last night. My pizza dough is becoming masterful these days.
Yeah, I'm braggin'.
-
A triscuit and some V8.
-
Some leftover pizza and a glass of cranberry juice.
-

The lying red light on the BBQ sauce cooler.
That's not me in the photo but it kind of looks like me.
-
Two baloney sandwiches
-
Subway flatbread. Mmm, gummy.
-
spinach, red peppers, radishes, one hard boiled egg, a small piece of red snapper.
-
Nothing but water and chewing gum.
And some cigarettes.
-
i had left over jerk tofu with "rice and peas" which is rice cooked in coconut milk. i refuse to cook rice in water ever again.
-
And some cigarettes.
This is the most shocking thing I've seen today, and I've seen some shocking stuff.
-
I had a great Friday night dinner to look forward to, so for lunch I ended up slobbing it out with some simple macaroni and meatballs.
-
Soba noodles w/grapefruit, goat's cheese and avocado. Mmmmm.
-
Captain Gordons Fishsticks and some sweet tea.
-
A cupcake and some hot tea. Not the healthiest, but whatevs.
-
I just realized how sad it is that I've been fantasizing about the egg-salad sandwich I'll be eating at the deli tomorrow, and that'll be the highlight of my day.
-
Snarf's
-
Some fancy hippie peach iced tea and a BLT.
-
spinach, red peppers, radishes, one hard boiled egg, a small piece of red snapper.
And you call yourself "mostlymeat"?
-
kashi mayan harvest bake - it was ok
-
I am about to eat lunch! Lunch today = probably another blueberry bagel and some nice hot tea. I hate change.
-
bagel with smoked salmon + orange juice
-
Again, two baloney sandwiches. Cheap!
-

Don't need to - I got a locked-in metabolism, at least so far. It's very hard for me to lose or gain weight.
All the exercise I do, I do for fun, or to promote endurance, or to keep the massive amounts of cheese from strangling my heart.
-

Approx how old are you, DaveB? If you're older than me, I'll get back to you when it changes!

A pulled pork quesadilla, about a hundred chips and two cups of Mello Yello.
Did you also arrange the chips in a meaningful pattern before eating them, or just count them as you ate them? Did you consume two glasses of Mellow Yellow or two cup-sized servings? Did you drink the soda from a mug? The poor pig's ghoast is infecting your mind! Please provide more details.

No pattern, no counting. It was probably more along the lines of 25 chips. I did dip them in even more cheese, or as they called it "queso." I drank one 16 oz cup of Mello Yello with ice at the restaurant and took one to go, which I am still drinking now. I would never drink soda (or, as we also call it, a drink or a soft drink - never "pop") from a mug. Coffee and tea are for mugs.
I hope the pig's ghoast appreciates that I thought he was delicious.

I ate some vegans today. Juicy.

There is a big difference between 25 and 100. This sounds like revisionist history!
Also, "drink" implies an alcoholic beverage. That is not the proper think to call soda; however, soft drink is an acceptable term.

I'm 41. I think my metabolism started slowing down maybe 5 years ago. Male menoupause? I'm not hugely overweight ... but there's certainly more of me than there used to be.

Fuckin' sushi.

Like a stupid kid, I will eat whatever they give me. I think they gave me about 25, but if they had given me 100 I probably would have eaten that, too.

Then why did you say 100, Buff?
Tighten up Pal.
It's not about what you "would have eaten".
For that you should start a new thread.

Forgot to eat until 4, so I ate three stuffed grape leaves and an entire fucking bag of these.
By the way, Snap Pea Crisps might include some semblance of snap pea in them, but they are by no means healthy. I can see my reflection on my fingertips after I eat them.

Forgot to eat
I heard a large female once say "Forgot to eat??? "That's a special kind of stupid."

Then I guess I know how you voted in that poll in Chinatown, Julie.

Moe's
Me, too!
Did they say "welcome" when you went in?
I always get a "welcome". I'm very popular there.
-
I score right down the middle on extrovert-introvert. My extrovert half says, "heh heh thanks.". My introvert half wants to chuck a burrito at them.
-
I get contemptuous stares whenever I walk into restaurants. No greetings, no salutations, nothing.
BTW, is Moe's any good? I like Chipotle, but their burritos generally set me back about $8.
-
My Moe's is a bagel place not afraid of pot innuendo.

Seriously, no joke, I think we've been watching (or not watching) Lou Dobbs go crazy before our eyes, on television. Howard Beale in real life.
-
I rode my bike to Shane's Rib Shack, where I devoured 4 teriyaki chicken strips and a bowl of baked beans. With a refreshing Coke to drink.

I had crap for lunch. But I had a great dinner, catfish and waffles, at Amy Ruth's restaurant in Harlem!

This new burger joint just opened up couple of blocks away. Turns out they're pretty good! And they serve St Peter's!
-
One large can of sodium infused V8, one jelly doughnut from Dunkin Donuts that someone brought for "breakfast," the "meal" I forgot to eat today, and one large iced coffee. I hate lunch.
-
I'm having a chopped salad with mixed greens, grilled chicken (garlicky!), green beans, cucumbers and slivered almonds. It's good but I could really go for a cheesesteak right about now.

Fried bacon, fried eggs, fried potatoes.
-
roast beef sandwich w/ Arby's sauce.
-
Trader Joe's mac n cheese (frozen, fatty, cheesy cheesy kind) and Hi-C Fruit Punch juice boxes. I had dental work done today. This will probably be my diet for the next few days.
I hadn't had mac n cheese for two months, and it used to be a huge part of my diet. I'm glad I waited til I really *needed* it :)
-
Dave, I at least hope you're eating those blony sangwidges with Wonder Bread and mayonnaise.

Saturday and finished In Defense of Food Friday so went to the farmer's market and this lifestyle will last until next Thursday when my long weekend starts and I eat a shitload of hot dogs.

Whatever it was, I ate it out of a Ziploc bag while sitting at my desk. In one sense, I felt like an astronaut. In another sense... quite the opposite.

Plain yogurt, raw baby spinach out of a bag....yummmmmmmm

Me too, really. But there is something about eating anonymous melange out of a baggie (as opposed to proper Tupperware) that feels different.

-
turkey sandwich w/ honey mustard and mayo. Baked Lay's on the side.

I had a serious stomach ache at lunch time today, which lasted from about 11 AM to 1 PM. Serious like I thought I was getting the swine flu. I figured that it might just be something like having taken Ibuprofen with coffee on a relatively empty stomach, which it turned out to probably be. So while out running around (or actually, plodding around, since my gait had practically slowed to a crawl), I got myself to a diner, where the various food smells I encountered made me want to puke, but I held my vomit in and ordered.
There were few things on the menu that did not, at that point, sound awful. What did I order? Why, a crab cake sandwich. I have no idea why this sounded appetizing. It wasn't, but it was food, and more importantly, it got something into my stomach and got me on my way.
-
it is only 8:30 a.m. right now and i made such an awesome lunch that im looking forward to lunch.
-
I am about to go to a local deli and order a pita wrap!

I prepare ghee rice and potato fry and some salad for lunch. Yet to eat. Shall I make pizza in home and how?

I skipped lunch but made up for it with these:
It's ok to pig out on these cookies cuz they're 'natural.' Interstingly they taste an awful lot like Chip's Ahoy...and they're owned by Kraft! Kraft owns Nabisco..Nabisco makes chip's ahoy...
:-[
They got me again.

Canned chili. It's a compulsion.

Sushi. Something called a "Raleigh roll," tuna salmon crab stick and shrimp nigiri, and one more roll that was pretty cool with different types of fish around something I didn't recognize.
-
I WAS going to have a frozen burrito, but a power outage scrapped that plan. So I was sent to Subway by coworkers... to find the power on again by the time I returned. Oh well. As a result, I'm preemptively posting that I had a burrito tomorrow.
AllisonLeGnome, that is possibly the cutest lunch I've ever seen.
Thanks- I'm considering the container a $3 at Target, microwave and dishwasher-safe version of a bento box.

Homemade Aloo Gobi and some garlic naan from the Indian place up the street.
(For those on the fitness challenge, Aloo Gobi can be made light and is low-cal and full o' fiber! And spicy!)

Soup for lunch is my new favorite. Today, I had New England Clam Chowder and some toast. I want to start making soups with my slow-cooker but it's such a toss-up. If it sucks, I'm stuck eating something gross.

Nothing. I'm going out to world's most ridic restaurant ever, Barton G., to celebrate with nitro-cocktails and gimmicky presentations. I haven't been in a while, but it's fun to do maybe once a year.

At my jr. high school job I get the school lunch the students get and it's typically good. Today was a korokke (a fried potato pancake thing), sesame gobo salad, miso soup with tofu and fish cakes, and rice. Yummy.

erika!
alicha link at http://ethiopianrecipes.net/alicha-ethiopian-stew/ (http://ethiopianrecipes.net/alicha-ethiopian-stew/) and, if you're feeling like sweet potatoes, another excellent recipe at http://ethiopianrecipes.net/ethiopian-style-lentils-with-yams-or-sweet-potatoes/ (http://ethiopianrecipes.net/ethiopian-style-lentils-with-yams-or-sweet-potatoes/).
on the alicha, we used 3-4 cloves of garlic, and 4 peppers instead of 6. it was still plenty hot, but the cabbage and carrots cooled everything out.

(sorry for resurrecting this thread but i haven't been able to stay current)
turkey and potato kima (indian food).
but the reason i'm posting this: i took a "knife skills" 1-night class and my potato's were diced into neat individual cubes. the uniformity of the vegetables didn't make the food taste better but they fit on my spoon better; and it was much more pleasant to look at. also, the knife skills class made the actual chore of cutting the vegetables a lot easier. in short, i recommend taking a one of these classes from your community ed if you see it.
