Title: This Week in Pizza Hut News

The chain restaurant that you might know as "Pizza Hut" is test-marketing a "rebranding"  concept:

... a two-syllable phrase that has special connotations for Best Show listeners.

HA HA!! ... and HEE HEE!

I was thinking of posting a pic of Dom Delouise's portrayal of "Pizza the Hut", but the Google image search results were too disgusting for me to deal with.

Yeah, I immediately thought of the Best Show when I heard this.

The BUTT HUT.

Thank you, Kim Kelly, (from Miami)That's what I had in mind ...  I was trying to be coy about it.

But after I posted, I searched for "the Hut" within Omar the Scrivener's site, and I was reminded that there is also "Radio Hut", and "HUT DOGS" ... and I certainly hope that Hut Dogs will be a menu option at The Hut.

Yes! Specifically, it looks like a store that sells "Spy vs. Spy" secret-agent hats.

I think it has a little bit of a Quentin Crisp vibe, which cannot be what Yum! was going for.

I assume they are doing this because they believe it is hip and it gives them immediate street cred. I mean, all the characters on Disney Channel and The Wire refer to it as "The Hut."

My girlfriend's sister's friend from Germany honestly thought Pizza Hut was Pizza Hat.

I expected this thread to be about pizza in a bread bowl or something.

I get all my favorite hats at the Hat Hut, so this is good news to me.

To the Yum corporation marketing folks: You're welcome!

I was really tempted to go to Domino's to get their macaroni and cheese inside a bread bowl after hearing food comedian Jim Gaffigan talk about it on Conan, but I was dissuaded.

I think the marketing people should have considered "Yum's Starch Hangar."

That's like a couple years ago, I swore I was gonna try the P'izza (a sandwhich but with slices of pizza instead of bread) at 7-11 after it was featured on the Apprentice.

It's kind of like a calzone, but it also fulfills your need for unnecessary punctuation.

You never know.  When I see Quentin Crisp, the first thing I think is "I want shitty pizza!"

But is it good?  I get calzones every once in awhile from the local "transplanted New Yorker" pizza shops and I like them, but Pizza Hut is closer by.

You and the rest of the artistic community.  The other people think, "hey, that guy from 'The Last Starfighter.'"  Which he's not.

And no, nobody thinks that but me.

I actually got one today for the first time. I know I have no one but myself to blame, but it was just awful. Everything that's bad about Pizza Hut pizza, but doubled because it's folded in half.
