I get to work all day on Saturday cause I took Wednesday off. But I've got WFMU and a couple Chris Elliott books that I bought for 5 bucks to keep me company. The last two weekends I went to Maplewood State Park for camping/picnic. It was great.

Already early Fri night here - right now watching our team probably lose against England (U21 Champ'ships), rest of the evening chilling with the folks. Saturday is my nephew's birthday, then Sunday it's back to Malmö, back to the grind.

Which Chris Elliott book? Is one of them "Into Hot Air?"  That book haunts me, because I basically started writing the same book before I knew of its existence.

Also, which Maplewood are you talking about? What state?

As for my weekend, mowing, powerwashing the deck, getting my iPhone fixed. i.e. Shoot me in the face.

Cleaning the house today. Due to complete boredom, a friend of mine is dyeing my hair reddish tonight. And tomorrow I am going to run/ride bike etc. And visit a friend!
todbot, I was about to say "Hope you feel better"
I gots the fever bad.
then I reread it and thought, "Oh...wait." Nevermind!

I am trying to get some work done today. I am posting in this thread, though, so you can probably guess exactly how well that is going. Tomorrow I have a short play reading at Canstage, as do a bunch of other cool people, so I am going to end up in the courtyard there, eating ice cream bars and trying not to get heatstroke. Also:

our A/C is out at the house and it looks like it may be early saturday before it's back on. I may be doing a lot of sweating tonight.

My mum and I are in a similar position - tonight we are going to buy tickets to one movie and then just hang out in the cineplex, going from movie to movie for as long as we can until we get kicked out.

I decided to go in chronological order so I've got Daddy's Boy and The Shroud of the Thwacker.

And I was talking about the Maplewood State Park in Minnesota (http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/maplewood/index.html). Looks like it's breathtakingly gorgeous (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&sa=1&q=Maplewood+State+Park+MN+Fall) there in the fall but it's very pretty in the summer too.

I refuse to do any more work today, so I'm going to sit in the chat waiting for someone to come entertain me until I can leave the office and go get loaded.

Note to self: Edit to "I have a lot of work to do on this busy Friday afternoon" if I get left hangin'. Or "blöö." Change it to "blöö."

I want to see it but my last name is Bloom and I have brothers and one of them looks exactly like Adrien Brody. Ergo I think the whole experience would wig me out too much.

Plus we're con men.

Tonight Visioneers, tomorrow Sonic Youth.

I could have sworn Visioneers was a fake movie, just an excuse to make a raucous trailer.
I am going to a garden party tomorrow!

I have to read some short stories by Kate Chopin, write 3 essays, edit a Q and A, and I would like to finish a short story that I started.

I am going to a movie tomorrow. Maybe. Also, I am making posters to advertise my cat's availability to be anyone's pet. Also, I'm going to clean. Also, I'm going to smoke a lot of marijuana cigarettes.

I just saw that for the second time last night, this time while listening to the downloadable director's commentary on my mp3 player. Earned myself a place in the nerd HoF for that one, I reckon.

I will be driving myself insane trying to figure out why my wife's MacBook constantly loses connection to the Internet (not the wireless signal mind u, but the Internet itself) while my PowerBook has no problem whatsoever even though her computer has no problem with any other wifi signal. Wtf??? This will lead to much self-medicating and gnashing of teeth. Perhaps rending of garments as well.

My wife, my dog and I are on the road. RIGHT NOW! Going to a Friends wedding in Arcata. Get to spend quality time with quality people.

And, yes, we are rockin' a Best Show from 2004 on our four hour drive.

I'm going to see Moon (http://www.sonypictures.com/classics/moon/trailer.html), a great looking sci-fi flick directed by David Bowie's son Duncan Jones.  After that I'm going to break out the homebrewing equipment and bottle an IPA and brew a Hefeweizen.

Studying for the bar exam.  This exam has taken me over.  I realized it yesterday when talking to a group of law school friends.  Our discussion about Michael Jackson's death quickly turned into the possible legal issues surrounding his probate.

Curious to hear what you thought of it.  I mostly liked it but it really helped that I generally like Sam Rockwell.

The Wife and I are picking up new glasses today. After attending last night's horrendous Mets game, this is proving to be the highlight of the weekend.
