In light of Tom's blues, I thought we could post things that cheer us up. You know, the things that never fail to make you laugh, or at least smile. Things that cheer you up! (besides The Best Show of course, that's a given).

Russo probably should have stayed at WFAN. Mike and the Mad Dog were windbags, but they had tremendous chemistry. No one could blame Russo for going for the money and the chance to have his own satellite radio channel, but in hindsight it probably wasn't a prescient move to jump to a sinking ship like Sirius/XM.

I normally wouldn't blame anyone for going for a bigger paycheck--except that Mad Dog always blasted athletes when they signed huge free agent contracts rather than sticking with their hometown team. He roasted guys like Johan Santana for doing what he basically did the first chance he got. And he busted on Francesa the first chance he got, too. I don't like Francesa too much either, but Mad Dog would be nothing without that guy.

Before I transform this thread into "I hate Chris Russo", I'll just say that I wrote a whole post about it today (http://scratchbomb.com/2009/07/chris-mad-dog-russo-the-gold-medal-winner-in-my-schadenfreude-olympics.html), the thrust of which is: Mad Dog can't fail enough for me.

That's "Drinking with Bob", a staple on Queens public access cable. The show is pretty much him going off on angry Archie Bunker-esque rants. I stumbled on it late one night, and was stunned, then amused, then annoyed, and finally saddened.

I've seen "Winnegbago Man" and it is *AMAZING*

Just really, really good. So much more than just a kitchy look at a viral video phenom. The guy gets up close to Rebney, and he is a bona fide piece of work. Without saying too much, there are a couple twists, and by the end of it, you may find yourself moved in ways you never would've expected. Highly worth seeking out. Doesn't seem to be on Netflix yet, but hopefully soon.
