Yes, it's a horrible name, but it's a great show. It's a relatively new comedy made by the creator of Andy Richter Controls the Universe. Very, very funny and unappreciated. It kind of reminds me of Arrested Development, but that may be due to Portia De Rossi being in it.
Anyways, I made this thread because it's now on Hulu. Here's probably the best episode of the series:

another good one:
h ttp://www.hulu.com/watch/81757/better-off-ted-you-are-the-boss-of-me
And plot summary:
The show is a satirical office comedy that focuses on Ted, the head of Research and Development at Veridian Dynamics. Veridian Dynamics is a large unscrupulous multinational corporation that values profits over morals. Ted is a single parent of a 7-year-old girl, Rose. At work, he oversees two research scientists Lem and Phil, and a head tester Linda, for whom he has romantic feelings. His boss is Veronica, an emotionless and conscience-free woman with whom he once had an affair. After the company cryonically freezes one of the research scientists, Ted begins to question the company's objectives and morals.
Even if it doesn't sound that great, give it a chance.

It was recommended by a guy at work, but he has the worst taste in TV & movies of perhaps anyone I've ever met, so I didn't pay much attention. A recommendation from an FOT goes a long way towards countering that. Maybe I'll check it out. Thanks!

I saw an edispode. ... eh,

Go eh yourself.
(kidding)
It's not for everyone, I guess. Just sharing it for the people who might enjoy it as much as I am.

I'll check it out thanks!
By the by, I LIKED Cavemen. I guess you could say I'm a Nick Kroll fan.

Everything about the show, from the title to the premise and even to some of the character's names, make it seem like it should stink. And I avoided it because of that. But I caught an episode and have watched a few since, and it feels like it's right on the cusp of being really good if they can get the tone right and maybe open it up a little more.
I didn't realize the Andy Richter Controls the Universe people were behind it. My biggest problem with that show was that all the funny stuff happened in cutaway dream sequences instead of just running with it, and that's something that this show sidesteps: they just go ahead and have insane people do insane things. I think it reminds me most of one of those forgotten '90s NBC shows, Working, which I also kind of liked and felt was always just on the edge of really pulling it together. The network messed around with that and then dumped it, so hopefully this will have a better fate when it comes back.

A fellow FOT/Comedy Zone pal of mine keeps telling me it's the best show on now behind 30 Rock and Sunny. For some reason, I can't get on board with it, maybe it's on a weird night or something (it's actually because I don't like how ABC shows look on my tv, weird filter or something). But I'm ready to believe - might have to find a torrent of it to get caught up since I keep hearing such good things.
-
You don't need torrents because there's Hulu, linked in the first post. Though, it doesn't have all the episodes... and you can't use it if you don't live in America...
-
But I wanna steal it >:(
(Mostly, I can't watch shows on my computer, I have no attention span for it. If it's not on my tv I just zone out. Thanks though!)

I'll check it out thanks!

Nick Kroll is not involved with "Better Off Ted." Perhaps you are thinking of "The Life and Times of Tim" or "Worst Week." Or was that a non sequitur?

I guess it was nonsequitur (is that how it's spelled- with a u?) but I was strictly referring to cavemen. As in I'll try anything. Seeing as Cavemen is so persona au gratin around here. NEVER MIND.

LEAVE HUGMAN ALONE!!! :'(

I was completely turned off by the name of this show and the advertisements ABC aired before it premiered, but the relentless boostering on the AV Club got me to try it. The knowledge that it's the new show from the creator of Andy Richter Controls the Universe also helped. But now I love it, and I'm so pleasantly surprised that it got renewed, since that definitely did not look like the probable outcome of the first season.
-
show is great, got into it mainly because it was on before/after Scrubs last season and because of the amazing Andy Richter Controls the Universe. So much better than the other comedies ABC is crapping out.
-
It's pretty funny, and my friends and I watch LOST, which came on afterward, so it gave us something enjoyable to watch while we were waiting.
-
i tried it. not crazy about it. the guy who plays Len (i believe) is funny though.
-
Lem, I think it is.
It was weird seeing that actor in The Hurt Locker.
