Kid Rock rolls out his beer tonight

When Kid Rock takes the stage tonight at Comerica Park for the first of two Detroit shows, his music won't be the only thing featured -- so will his new beer.
After a year of planning, Kid Rock's American Badass Beer will be available for purchase for the first time and organizers hope concertgoers enjoy it.
Introduced as an American-style lager, the beer is described by Kid Rock -- a.k.a. Robert Ritchie -- as being easy to drink without an aftertaste.
"I'm American, that's what I like to drink, and from looking around the parking lot before my shows, I know that's what my fans drink," Kid Rock said.
Next month, 12-ounce and 22-ounce bottles of the beer are expected to line retail shelves statewide, said J. Patrick Kenny, COO of beer distributor Drinks Americas. After the Michigan launch, the beer is expected to debut in Ohio, Texas, Nevada, Tennessee and California; by next year, Kenny said, he believes it will be offered nationwide.
"It's a good beer with an awesome name," Kenny said. "When you hear the name American Badass, I don't care what neighborhood you're from, you just smirk."
The beer is brewed at Michigan Brewing Co. in Webberville, near Lansing.
