Oh, Hoboken (http://www.politickernj.com/bobabouey/32455/artie-lange-mayor-hoboken-diners-are-cheese-fries).
A group of Hoboken residents today announced the launch of a campaign to elect Artie Lange Mayor of Hoboken, New Jersey.
Lange, a former longshoreman turned comedian, actor and Howard Stern side kick, resides on the north end of Hoboken.
“Hoboken has not received the respect it deserves from past and current politicians. Corruption, incompetence and political grandstanding have taken the place of a sincere caring for its residents,” said Campaign Manager, Bob Abouey, “Instead of a candidate peddling hope, we want Artie to cut through the politics.”
“A former longshoreman with a rap sheet should have no problem getting elected in Hoboken. It’s practically a requirement,” said Bob Abouey, “The fact that he was All County in high school is icing on the cake.”
“I would legalize all drugs and tax the shit out of them,” Lange said on-air. The money generated would go to city workers. “Police would get $200,000 a year and firemen would start at $150,000” in a Lange administration.

I say, why not? If an exterminator can become the single most powerful man in Congress, why can't a radio sidekick become Mayor of Hoboken, NJ?
Besides, it's not as if New Jerseyans haven't elected their fair share of deadbeat politicians.

This probably isn't too serious. First, campaign manager "Bob Abouey" has a familiar sounding name (say it fast). Then I noticed this on the website:

The most ridiculous part of it is that you only need 36 signatures to be a candidate in Hoboken. One less than Newbridge!
