I know there have been at least one thread on this movie before, but since I just saw this last night for the first time, I am compelled to start a discussion on the phenomenon that is The Room.
One of my favorite things about it was how the first sex scene (shudder) between "Lisa" and "Johnny" is the same exact footage as the second sex scene between them.
What's your favorite part??

The way that guy fucks is IDENTICAL to the way my dog humps. It just looked... wrong.
Also the flower shop scene's dubbing is hilarious.

My friend put on a screening of this in Toronto, people dressed up and were drunk and crazy for the screening.

For anyone in NYC, it's playing at midnight tonight. I saw it a couple of months ago and the whole experience was highly entertaining.

The discussion where breast cancer is basically dismissed as no big deal.
Also, there's a Rifftrax for this now.

OMG who wants to go??

Ah, apparently they show it the last Friday of every month. Next time!!

They do that here, too, but on Saturday. Which wouldn't be a problem, except that "here" is LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. Kinda weird, right?
They've screened it three or four times now and I've never gone. I'm debating whether or not to go tomorrow night. I'll either see THE ROOM or THE LIMITS OF CONTROL. Which is less terrible?

The thing about The Room is that it isn't just badly made, it's laughably bad at every moment. There's no long stretches where you get bored because nothing happens, it's one scene after another of abandoned plotlines, laughable premises, and characters saying insanely stupid things.

you know they say that chocolates are a symbol of love
-
Is it just me or does that guy look like Mark Bolan ate some bad clams.
-
God, I love this movie.
The aforementioned Flowershop scene is probably my favorite.
"Keep the change. Hi, doggy.
"You're my favorite customer."
Or Denny's whole drug plotline.
The clear self-love, the misogyny, the stupidity; it's like a fine wine with many different aromas and flavors, and each time you go back to it you find something new.

"Mark, he is my BEST friend!"

I read about a part where "Lisa" has a protruding bone coming out of her neck or something...anyone know where exactly that happens? It might have been in one of the gross sex scenes I fast forwarded through.
-
I just noticed that he's wearing a blazer, black t-shirt and those cargo pants with the zippers. Haha.

Man, I'm so excited to see the Rifftrax for this. The sample is pretty hilarious:
