Dear August,
I am writing this to publicly apologize for my behavior in the FOT chat a couple of weeks back. I had led you to believe that I was involved in the popular MMORPG "World of Warcraft" and had achieved the rank of "level 26 Night Elf". At the end of our discussion, I let it be known that I, in fact, have never played this game and had fabricated all the information that I had revealed to you. I hope that you do not feel that my deception was in any way meant to be mean-spirited, or "making fun" of you. I have noted your absence from the chat in weeks past, and hope that it is not because you feel that you were not welcome in the chat and were perhaps a target of ridicule. quite the opposite is true: it has become evident since your arrival on Best Show shores that you are an admired and enjoyed FOT personality! I, as well as countless others, are delighted when you call into the show and crack wise.
See, the thing is: I am rather interested in some of the sociological/ anthropological aspects to online communities such as WoW and Second Life, so I tend to pick up certain terms regarding these areas (such as "Guilds", for instance) and was curious as to whether or not I could "pass" as a denizen of one of these "digi-cosms" (hey, I just coined that!) to a "local", such as yourself. I guess I should probably have better hobbies than trying to convince a young gamer that I have, in fact, acquired the Flaming Sword of Algoroth and would be willing to trade it for a case of vintage Orbitz™ soda.
I hope you accept this apology, and hope to see you in the FOT chat in weeks to come!

Perhaps, although when Tom (via Petey, who desired a Breakout battle) asked him if he had signed up for the board, he said that he "just signed up for that", and then he appeared for the first time ever on the FOT Chat.
