Title: Proud moments III

Looks like we don't have a catch-all proud moments thread.

Charles Darwin film 'too controversial for religious America' (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/6173399/Charles-Darwin-film-too-controversial-for-religious-America.html)

Quote
A British film about Charles Darwin has failed to find a US distributor because his theory of evolution is too controversial for American audiences, according to its producer.

You realize its the producer of the movie that called it "too controversial" and not the distributors, right? That's like asking an employee why he was fired and accepting it as truth when he says "I just worked too hard, I guess."

BTW, I've never seen any credible evidence that Darwin actually existed.

He's saying the guy is just bitter he can't get distribution here in the states and so he's bitching about it in this way.

I mildly disagree, but we'll see how this pans out.

Passion of the Christ was a piece of shit but because it appealed to a wide audience and could be pushed by churches, it got HUGE distribution. This could be an instance of the opposite happening. The vitriol it could bring up in the churchy world could be unattractive to some, I guess.  (I tend to think Jennifer Connolly and Paul Bettany are pretty good actors... am I that far off base?)

On the other hand, I thought it was the godless jews that ran Hollywood. What's up with THAT?

A prudent business decision, IMO.

What? Having the godless jews run Hollywood? I couldn't agree more.
