Hey all -
A listener sent me this email the other day. I cannot for the life of me figure out what song she is referring to:
Hi Tom,
You played a song that I really liked on an episode but I forgot to write the name. It was a song called "Bring It" and I think the act was maybe from Tennessee or Kentucky. I remember looking up the artist and the record hadn't been released yet and I meant to write a reminder to myself to buy it when it did. If you remember, could you let me know? I went through a couple of the podcasts and got daunted.
Thanks for the answers!
Tom.

could it be The Reigning Sound's "Break It"?
-
I agree it's the Reigning Sound. I think the song is spelled "Brake It". The band started out in Memphis, TN, and is now based in Asheville, NC.
-
I'm pretty sure it is Break It. It's the first song on Love & Curses. There's also a version of it on the Mary Weiss record from 2007 with The Reiging Sound backing her up. Both are great.
-
Bring It On by the Insane Clown Posse from 3rd track off of The Amazing Jeckel Brothers????
Probably not....

Yeah, I'm dumb. "Brake It" doesn't make sense in terms of the lyrics.

you aren't dumb. You are correct!
the LP lists it as "Brake It"

Don't matter how you spell it, it's a great song.

I believe that's a typo. It's actually "Bray Kit."
