Tom, take a nap!
-
Have you tried microsleeps, Tom? I hear that's what the Batman does.
-
This is great. Really fun to read, except for the death part and the retirement part and the fact that I'm now worried about Faust shipping sheep. Perhaps you could count them on your way to a sound nights sleep. Turned up the old anxiety dial. An eleven, like the interview. Definite "W".
Thanks Andrew V. Dill for posting.

Didn't like it. Loved it.

Tom, take a nap!
All the greats barely slept, right? Thomas Edison? Da Vinci? Other people I can't think of right now?

I'm hoping to hear they'll be breaking ground on TomDome soon.

That's where the TOM Conference will be held.

How about a southern branch of FOT called the Tomfederacy?
-
Confederacy of Munches?

"you can come see me in my blue vest"

So far, three people have commented on the interview. The first is a simple "Best Show for Life!" The second begins, "Tom Scharpling is the funniest guy on radio today -- stumbled upon his show on WFMU on Sunday's last year. It's as intriguing and interesting and funny as Howard Stern used to be, even without the sex" (it then meanders into some griping about FMU's music programming). Then the third comment:
Oh man I just went up to WFMU to listen to Scharpling, and I realized the show I have been talking about is really the Glen Jones radio program with X-Ray Burns. http://www.wfmu.org/Playlists/GJ/archives.html. You have to fast forward an hour on many of the archives to get to the program.
I've heard Scharpling interview Aimee Mann and he was very funny, but it was/is Glen Jones I was talking about. Great program.
Sorry, Tom, but I just had to laugh.

Racism Crash or car crash fetish Crash?
-
Racism Crash.
Tom.
-
That's TL's album title right there.
-
Racism Crash.
I never did see this movie, although I got a free copy of it whatever year it was that it came out. I think it's still in the wrapper. It just looks all message-y or something.

Me neither, but I have seen car crash fetish Crash, and after that, have no desire to see any other movies named Crash.
-
Racism Crash was horrible. Hated every second of it.
-
"His car must smell of semen."
This is what passes for sexy in David Cronenberg's mind?

Not as much anymore, but I was a purty big Cronenberg fan for a long time there. It's hard to say you love one of his movies. "love", "enjoy" etc, aren't really the best words to describe your feelings about them.
Also the source material he draws from isn't exactly running barefoot thru the meadow kind of stuff.

I will say that after watching it, I wanted to check out the short story it was based on. I read the short story Spader's movie "Secretary" was based on. I preferred the movie.

And who else would've been able to do anything with Naked Lunch?

my favorite part was the zoom in on the box of blanks just in case you couldn't put it together from the fact that they mentioned the blanks earlier and when the guy got shot nothing happened to him.

Uhg. They may as well have added a sentence in parenthesis at the bottom of the screen explaining how blanks work. Maybe that's on the Blu-Ray version.
