I'm waiting for Criterion to release more Sam Fuller movies. They've already released The Naked Kiss, Pickup on South Street, and Shock Corridor. I'm most grateful for their facelift to Shock Corridor, as my VHS copy was falling apart.

I understand that it's likely they'll release Steel Helmet, I Shot Jesse James, and The Baron of Arizona in the future. I hope they do. White Dog, on the other hand? No. No thank you. Please, let that one be forgotten.

CRAP. Film Forum apparently had a showing of White Dog yesterday. It's not a good movie, okay! It's about a dog that's trained to attack African Americans. I don't like it. I really, really don't like it.

That's correct. Pardon the pun, but that movie was a dog.

I've saw "White Dog" on a bootleg tape years ago, it plays like a really bad tv movie.

Actually Fox put out a Sam Fuller's House Of Bamboo as part of their Noir series

I was vaguely wondering that myself.  Never liked her.  She was hailed as a wonderful child actress, and I always found her simply annoying.

Oh, and I thought White Dog was just a really bad TV movie.  That's where I had the misfortune of seeing it lo these many years ago.

a lot of times you can guess what they'll do in the next year based on what plays at Film Forum. i'm still waiting for the other great Graham Greene screenplay, Fallen Idol.

EDIT: never mind, i just saw it came out last November.

I replaced my Seven Samurai last week. It's pretty great, but it sucks having to buy the same movie on Criterion twice. I'll be replacing my The Third Man, too. Looking forward to a 2-disc of it.

Yeah I love my new copy of Seven Samurai now lets hope for a super cool deluxe reissue of the Hidden Fortress. With George Lucas pointing out how much he stole from it. Instead of that interview on the old one.

I have a hard time buying movies. Unless it's all time. Like Lindsay Lohan's classic, "The Parent Trap."

Lucas owns up to that one pretty readily doesn't he? I swear I heard him talk on this at length once.

All he says on the DVD is that the idea of the droids tand bring the princess back are stolen. But I want him ot give acommentery saying I stole that I stole this. Just like Taratino should do for City on Fire
