Title: halloween costume ideas
Post by: cutout on October 20, 2009, 03:25:37 AM
Anyone thought of a good one this year? I'm definitely getting lazier with each Halloween. I have to stop by a friend's party but don't want to be a costume-less killjoy  :-\

Eh, been doing that for years.

i kind of like things that will get a laugh but don't really have a theme per se -- like, say, a unitard along with an amish beard.

as for lazy, one year i just had a t-shirt made that said, 'a pirate'.

I have a phobia about costumes. Seriously. The yearly Halloween party is my least favorite night of the year; my best friends host it, and it is by all accounts a great party, but I spend most of it by myself in an old Adirondack chair in the back yard, no matter how cold. One year when It rained, I just went home. I keep going back because my wife loces it.

Don't what triggers this in me, but it's one of the worst things I can imagine, having to make small talk with someone dressed as, I don't know, Beetlejuice?

The new Party City insert has a bunch of costumes.  Every single costume for an adult woman could be accurately described as "Slutty _______."  There are, in fact, three different Slutty Pirate costumes.

Most of the men's costumes are not slutty, with the exception of the Bruno ripoff costume.  I didn't know men had that much thigh.

There's even a slutty Robin costume, it's amazing.

I'm going as a Baseball Fury this year. Hopefully people won't think I'm a jaundiced Yankee or something.

I went as a Mummenschanz a few years back, with toilet paper rolls for eyes. It was a big hit. As far as I know.

At a previous job there was a very weird lady who came in to work on Halloween in a full on furry outfit. It was disturbing to look at her all day.

You should have seen what she did immediately following work.

Did the furry outfit have a crotch hole?

(I'm going as Darlene Connor and I have some friends being Dan and Roseanne. Thrift store costume - yeah!)

My friends and I are going with a "_____ fairy princess" theme. I'm an alien fairy princess; others are being a zombie fairy princess, French fairy princess, a ninja fairy princess, and a flapper fairy princess.

A sexy bee  :D
I seriously saw multiple sexy bee costumes while shopping for costume stuff the other day.

Would a 'sexy dinosaur' (male) be in bad taste? I'm not sure what it would look like yet.

I'm probably not going to wear anything under the tunic.

Hey, speaking of "sexy," in a speech I sat through the other day the speaker said "Integrity is what you do when no one is looking."  This has been the source of a few days of material for me.

I ran this morning's 5k as a gym-class nerd (I couldn't find a good Artie-style shirt, so I went as something generic) complete with a "Shakespeare is my Homeboy" tshirt, little red 70's style track shorts, knee-length athletic socks w/ blue stripes around the top, black-framed glasses w/ tape wrapped around the nosepiece, and a sweatband round my head. It ended up being cute and pretty outrageous.
I was the only one running dressed in a costume. And who won the costume contest?

not me. A girl with little Halloween antennas. That was all her costume.

I feel cheated.
