I'm still going to build that fallout shelter. Just in case.

You should watch out for this one, Apophis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/99942_Apophis) April 13, 2029. Not to be captain bringdown, here is Neil deGrasse Tyson talking about this event in our not too distant future.

Here he is again on the topic of this thread.

I really like listening to him...he seems like a stand up guy!

It's like this:

good humored doctor ------- the line Neil deGrasse Tyson walks -------- funny doctor

If he gets any jokier, he's going to lose credibility. Still, I like his frankness.

I keep toasting to extinction. Maybe it'll finally happen.

Perhaps he would lose credibility in this forum for being jokey...his knowledge and passion are obvious and make up for that in my opinion. He is hosting a radio show, science based on all things astrophysics. His co-host is comedian Lynne Koplitz. I had to delete my subscription to the podcast after listening to a few of the episodes, it was unbearable. I'd prefer if they had just let him loose for an hour on his own. I think the producers were trying to make him more re-latable/approachable to the general public which is a mistake, at least with the approach they chose. He is the host of Nova Science Now for PBS and is the director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History. Wiki it! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_deGrasse_Tyson)

Do you think we can get some FOT approved fall-out shelters up and running?  Because I don't think I could enjoy the rest of my days with just anyone.
