Title: The Juggalog
Post by: colonel panic on November 23, 2009, 09:48:40 AM
This is a blog of a roadie on a juggalo-band tour: http://thejuggalog.tumblr.com/ (http://thejuggalog.tumblr.com/)

Here's a snippet from after the tour:
Quote
I’m 3 days in to my real life, or the life I once knew. I’m still numb, but I am regaining feeling …I think.

I’m trying to get back into the habit of actually shaking people’s hands instead of giving them the fist for the pound because I refuse to touch them. In the Juggalo world, totally acceptable, but now I just feel like a fucking douche bag.

Poetry.

UPDATE: i think the blog has been removed but if you subscribe to it in a feed reader then all the posts, pictures and videos are still there.

None of you will ever know what I know. You can talk shit on Juggalos, and ICP, and whatever. The truth is that this life-style is completely unexplainable, impenetrable, and not to mention undesired by any person in their right mind. I’ve been exposed to this for 9 weeks now and still have no fucking clue what the fuck is happening here.

Is it interesting? Extremely. Is it worth finding out about? Fuck no.

7 days. 7 days. 7 days.

Saigon.  I can't believe i'm still in Saigon.

Thought this thread was going to be about some kind of all-Juggalo version of Kieslowski's Decalogue. I guess that would be more like the "Juggalogue", though. Too bad.

Incidentally, saw a guy in an ICP t-shirt at a Reigning Sound show on Saturday. He was, I'd guess, well above 60 years old.  To take a cue from Andrew WK's diplomatic and nonjudgemental discussions of the Juggalo community, I won't cast aspersions or make any snap judgements about this man or his character.  All I will say is that, based on his appearance and demeanor, it was clear that he was either going into or coming out of a very difficult time in his life.

I think I've seen this.  One episode was later adapted as A Short Film About Faygo.

A Short Film About Faygo.

I thought Faygo was a Coen Brothers film.

I love at about 2:35 when they reporter is interviewing the little girl and her mother and all you can hear is "WOOT WOOT!" in the background.

Some of these passages are reminiscent of the literary masterwork, "Get in the Van."

Did Henry Rollins write this, by chance?

"Hot Animal Machine, Pt. 1"

Looking at the bottom, what do I see
I see the bottom staring back at me
You have to be part animal part machine
If you take a good look around you'll see what I mean
I won't take, I won't break (x5)
Seeing fear in their eyes
They won't rest easy until the other dies
You have to be part animal part machine
If you take a good look around you'll see what I mean
I won't take, I won't break (x5)
Sitting in a hot prison going insane
I count to ten, take a deep breath, try to maintain
You have to be part animal part machine
Take a good look around you'll see what I mean
I won't take, I won't break (x5)
Bars on the windows locks on the door
Drugs in the cabinet, guns in the drawer
You have to be part animal part machine
If you take a good look around you'll see what I mean
I won't take, I won't break...
