I was reading Steve Marriott's Wikipedia entry and couldn't believe this paragraph:
Black Sabbath frontman, Ozzy Osbourne, named Marriott the fourth greatest singer[6] and Clem Burke of Blondie named him the sixteenth greatest singer and wrote under his name, "greatest rock singe"[7]. Paul Stanley of Kiss has said, "He had a great voice" and went on to say, "Steve Marriott was unbelievable". Steve Perry, of Journey fame, has claimed that, "One of my favourite vocalists was Steve Marriott."[8]
Ladies and gents- Steven Marriott, the sixteenth greatest singer of all-time!

I came across this one, buried deep within the archives (someone had deleted it over a year ago) of Davy Jones's Article:
"By far the smallest Monkee, reaching only 5 foot 3 inches tall and weighing around 100 pounds, he was often the last Monkee to fall in love and could be seen on the beach in a swimming outfit"

Jones could often be seen walking down the street [1 (http://www.monkees.net/DOCS/LYRICS/THEME.htm)], sometimes receiving the funniest looks from people he would meet [2 (http://www.monkees.net/DOCS/LYRICS/THEME.htm)]. Asked to critique the work of other '60s musicians, Jones commented he was "too busy singing to put anybody down" [3 (http://www.monkees.net/DOCS/LYRICS/THEME.htm)].

Wait, so is the quote I found a reference to one of their songs? I really only know their hits.

I was just goofin' around. Or monkeying, if you will.
I imagine the stuff about Davy being "the last to fall in love and ... seen on the beach ..." was written in reference to things his sitcom character did on a regular basis. (As opposed to the "real" Davy Jones). But I don't really know, I haven't seen any of those shows since I was a little kid.

This would probably fall under "one of the best sentences on all of Wikipedia" rather than worst paragraphs, but this is as good a place for it as any. I was planning on writing a piece that was going to be called "Why Didn't The Doobie Brothers End Racism?" for another website a while ago, but got bored or sidetracked or something and never finished it.
Still, it led me to do some reading on the heated schism among Doobie fandom re: the Michael McDonald years, and the discussion page for the main Doobie Brothers article on Wikipedia, which had apparently been revised many times due to controversial opinions on the subject. The final line in this section, still on the discussion page, is:
"By the way, I know a hell of a lot about the Doobie Brothers, jerkweed."

He had a great voice.

This thread is such a funny coincidence - today I actually stumbled across the greatest paragraph of all on Wikipedia, on King Khan's page:
In early November, King Khan announced an upcoming collaboration with rapper GZA, also known as The Genius. GZA is a member of the Wu-Tang Clan known for his laid-back flow and poetic, insightful lyrics. The two musicians have recently performed together and will also perform on November 7 and 8 at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas. Khan will be heavily involved in GZA's next album and will presumably tour with him in support of said album.[3]
On a sentence-by-sentence basis, though, I don't know if anything can ever top that Doobies thing, though. Why is it that every time I read that, I hear it in Wurster's voice?
