I'm ashamed to admit this but I feel pretty anonymous here so ... I once drove over a 100 mph. And it's not like the road was empty there were some other cars around. I heard sirens in the far distance behind me and I quickly slowed down and moved to the right - they drove right past me and I got away with it. (deep sigh) There, I said it and I feel a little less burdened now/

Did you kill someone while doing this? Or were you drunk? Otherwise, I think that's fairly common, and nothing to worry about. What Seventeen year old, newly minted driver (male) hasn't seen how fast he can go? I know I did.

I did 110 in a 55 zone in California.
I only did it so I could use the phrase double nickels on the dime.

I thought this phrase meant going 55mph on I-10.

Unless this is some kind of crazy kilometer/hour joke that none of us get.

Damn you're right, and to think I risked life and limb for nothing.

I guess 100 isn't as fast as I thought. Maybe it seemed faster because my car was shaking like crazy. I didn't have a hood at the time (it flew off on a seperate occasion) and that probably contributed to the unstableness of the car. I've done other stupid things with my car but they're too terrible to speak of here. ... OK, so I killed 8 people and injured 14 more at a farmer's market. Big deal. I confused the pedals. Could happen to anyone.

My parents' car would vibrate like hell if you broke 60. But I came up in '90's New Jersey, where the speed limit was 50 and you couldn't really ever expect to break 70 even if you wanted to.
