Ok I noticed that there was some struggle just coming up with the decades best, so I'll make it easier.
This thread is more of a rec thread because I am looking for some new great shows.
I like alot and am afraid that I've tapped out all the great TV shows but I know that can't be true.
p.s.- I don't like Steve Coogan.

You're waiting for someone to say 'Perfect Strangers' aren't you?
-
I was promised $1,000 the first time anyone ever says Smart Guy was the best show ever. I figured I'd try to increase my odds.

Arrested Development. What exactly are we talking about here, Harris?

A while back, I found seasons one and two of Perfect Strangers pretty cheap. It's actually pretty good. Formulaic, predictable, gag-driven, and all that, but it does it all pretty well. My wife loved it, and she never watched it when it was on.

It was a lame attempt to get tv rec's. But it failed.
So I changed the topic. So now we can list the shows about which we may say: "This show was horrible, but fuck it, I LOVED IT."
GUTS
Boy Meets World
Step by Step
Sister/Sister
Are You Afraid of the Dark
DDDEEEGGGRRRAAASSSIII: The Next Generation

as a youngster, Saved By The Bell.
what a TERRIBLE show. i have no allegiance to that show, even for nostalgic purposes.

you're right.
Looking back, Screech is the most repulsively geeky and annoying character ever. It really hurts to watch him.

Anybody watch USA High?

Anybody watch USA High?
Absolutely, good old Lazarini.
I always enjoyed Ed, but I can't decide if it was the best good show on TV or the worst good show. It could be super cringe-worthy, but also suprisingly funny.

I know there's no accounting for taste, but harris, if you don't like Steve Coogan (esp. Alan Partridge) I can't help feeling that there's nothing I can say to help you on this one.
I second the Padre's assessment that Perfect Strangers had some reasonably funny stuff in it. Those guys had some pretty funny physical comedy bits.
Overall though, I think the overlap between best TV ever and best TV of the 00's is pretty huge. TV wasn't much good before that.

what the fuck are we doing in this thread, exactly?

We're talking about flower pots. Keep up.

Ouch. Steve Coogan is like a British Will Ferrell imho. I just find him really pompous and sure of himself that everything he does is a gem and that is a real turn off to me. I know you guys eat the two up. Fair enough. Just not for me.
I just think it's a stretch to say you can't help me if I don't like him. Less that you can't help me and more 'You suck if you don't like Steve Coogan.' Right?
Anyway, yeah the thread is dead, leave it.
