How did I not know that so many other Oklahomans love the Best Show?  We're not nearly as devoid of taste and culture as others may think that we are.

Also, Dylan, who pledged from Japan (the guy in the navy) is also from Oklahoma, so he counts, too.

I'm glad that Tom realized that we all really are best friends with the Flaming Lips.

When I take you out, tonight, with me,
Honey, here's the way it's goin' to be:
You will set behind a team of snow white horses,
In the slickest gig you ever see!

Chicks and ducks and geese better scurry
When I take you out in the surrey,
When I take you out in the surrey with the fringe on top!
Watch that fringe and see how it flutters
When I drive them high steppin' strutters.
Nosey pokes'll peek thru' their shutters and their eyes will pop!
The wheels are yeller, the upholstery's brown,
The dashboard's genuine leather,
With isinglass curtains y' can roll right down,
In case there's a change in the weather.
Two bright sidelight's winkin' and blinkin',
Ain't no finer rig I'm a-thinkin'
You c'n keep your rig if you're thinkin' 'at I'd keer to swap
Fer that shiny, little surrey with the fringe on the top!
All the world'll fly in a flurry
When I take you out in the surrey,
When I take you out in the surrey with the fringe on top!

Is there a required yearly visit to Muskogee?

I live in the same neighborhood as Wayne Coyne, so I potentially could be friends with him.  Also, I actually did he a gay gentleman last week with an Oklahomo shirt.  The younger generations aren't near as offended by the term Okie.  I've lived here since I was 2 and I've never been to Muskogee.

Admittedly, Oklahoma has more than it's fair share of hayseeds and cow-licks, but there are a lot of nice people and I was actually pretty shocked at the number of pledges came from the OKC area.  Time for an OKC FOT listening party?  Maybe an Oklahoma branch of Scharpling's Army?

As a lurking Oklahoman FOT, I will be pledging as well.  Gotta have my podcast.  You know, for when I'm plowing and shooting guns and whatnot.

Best Oklahoma sendup evah is "Cokelahoma," a WZBC-exclusive cut that local (Boston) recording outfit Cokedealer put together a few years ago. If I can get my hands on it, I will make it my first FOT mixtape submission.

So how did you handle the "Surrey with the Fringe on Top". Or does that not fall under the jurisdiction of set design. I don't know these things, as I was in the pit, playing the Trombone.

Join hosts Pseu Braun and Gaylord Fields for an evening of off-the-cuff covers done up in the style of Hoboken's finest. Ira, Georgia and James will be joined by Bruce Bennett as they try to play pledger's requests. The whole thing will be viewable live in Windows format, via the WFMU webcam. "

We built a damn surry if memory serves. It was no small task either.

I don't think there is one tonight anyway, as The Kid is Recuperating tonight with his wife Gillian. So no harm, no foul.
