Title: Cameron Douchebaggery

Quote
'Anybody can be a father or a husband. There are only five people in the world who can do what I do, and I'm going for that.'

This is about the assholiest things I have read in a while.

I'm one of the only people who can make extremely bland and dumb movies with great special effects that make a shitload of money!

What is wrong with this guy, and for that matter, what is wrong with the media? Why are people so easy to believe this is a great movie just cause the press says it is so it makes money? I mean he even admits it was written years ago, and it is so clearly a played out metaphor for Bush and the Iraq war.

Yeah, I've always thought he was one of cinema's biggest tools, and that's really saying something.

'Anybody can be a father or a husband. There are only five people in the world who can do what I do, and I'm going for that.'

This reminds me of a Faulkner quote I once heard - while arguing with his daughter, he said "Nobody remembers Shakespeare's daughter."

The tone of that article is so avid and breathless I hate everybody associated with it.

I thought maybe you meant Kirk Cameron.  He's fun.

Has somebody linked to the Martini Ranch video he directed yet?

(Not that using one's past work is a form of invalidation, but it can be a great form of sobering one's ego)

What does it say about me that I first thought of this guy?

That you hear Cameron and think of him is not so weird.  That you hear "Cameron douchbaggery" and think of him means you are cruel.  That Cameron is a good guy.

For some reason, I thought it would be about David Cameron.

How about that.

I thought about Cameron Crowe.

I thought about Cameron the cyborg on The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  She could be douchey at times, but, hey, she was a robut; she couldn't help it.

As a cybernetic organism and not a robot, her basic subroutines deal with human psychology. It's totally different.

You know now why I cry, Sarah. But it is something you can never do.

I thought about Cameron Crowe, too.

I also read the article, and I don't disagree that this guy sounds like a complete mutant, but the quote -- 'Anybody can be a father or a husband. There are only five people in the world who can do what I do, and I'm going for that.' -- is what this guy's obviously insane ex-wife says he told her once.
