I'd love to hear the thought of the masses on best cartoon series ever.
I'm a huge fan of the classics:
1. Bugs Bunny
2. Bullwinkle
there there are a smattering of other more modern cool things
3. Ren and Stimpy the early seasons
4. The Tick
5. Avatar the last Airbender
6. Cowboy Bebop

You can't top Bugs Bunny, you can't stop Bugs Bunny!
-
Freakazoid was infintely good. But Bugs is the top.
-
Bugs Rules! Well excpet for that crap new Bugs they are trying to force down kids throats
-
Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, I guess.
or Tom Goes to The Mayor

i've seen more bugs bunny episodes, by far, but i think i like Rocky & Bullwinkle more. oh and i also like spongebob square pants, (the hash slinging slasher episode rocked)

Yeah you really have to give it up for Bugs and the whole Looney Tunes gang. A few years back I spent a day of semi-delirious exhaustion watching one of Boomerang's "June Bugs" Bugs Bunny marathons and I marveled at how great it was.
As far as modern stuff goes, I have a soft spot for Batman: The Animated Series. Actually, pretty much all the DC Universe animated stuff from B:TAS through Justice League Unlimited is excellent but the early Batman with the ink and paint animation rather than the slicker, computer-aided stuff was just awesome. Great look, great stories, probably the best ever cartoon of it's kind.
And I know everyone is probably flashing on Tom's current hatred of FWD Harry Shearer but can one have any kind of discussion of the best cartoon ever with at least bringing up "The Simpsons?"

Based on the number of members presently logged on, I'm guessing there will be no mention of Family Guy.

I only watch Felix the Cat shorts. The silent ones of course. Everything after that is unrefined and base. Purely for the riff-raff.

1. Looney Tunes
2. Ren and Stimpy
Pretty hard to top those. I am sure I'll think of plenty of others the minute I hit the "post" button.

o, so many
1. Looney Tunes
2. Rocko's Modern Life
3. Dexter's Laboratory
an alienating one
4. Cartoon Planet

Looney Tunes is probably the best of stuff that still holds up. I haven't seen the others in awhile. I'd definitely be up to see them again, especially "Rocky & Bullwinkle", I remember those two villains being hilarious. "The Tick" was always really funny too, I want to see that again. Not sure I've heard of "Avatar". "The Simpsons" is pretty much high art at this point.

The selection of shows kids have today kinda sucks in general. Spongebob is the only worthwhile newish show I can think of. And the Pixar movies. Maybe that's how everyone feels tho when they grow up.
I just don't get "Family Guy". I want to like it, but I just can't.

3. Dexter's Laboratory
HOLY CRAP, I love that show!!!!

Sweet, sweet Rocko's Modern Life. How I miss you.
In the late '90s, there was a cartoon variety show called Ka-BLAM! that I loved. A mix of funny and weird-for-weird's-sake, but always a good time.
He's already been sort of canonized, I guess, but I think Mike Judge satirizes his time as well as Rocky & Bullwinkle did theirs.
I've harped on this too much already, but I do not get Family Guy, either. And that's coming from a Futurama apologist.

I actually watched it for the third time ever last night, it sucked like space.
Weaker than an airport drink.

Two words,
Speed Racer
End of Poll

That was a great show. The cartoon hosts were named Henry and June, which is pretty cool. The Action League Now! shorts were also way better than anything on Robot Chicken.

I can understand why some people hate it, but I'd be lying by omission if I didn't give it up for Dr. Katz Professional Therapist. During its run, I was obsessed with that show to the point of spec-ing it for a final exam in college.
It also introduced me to H. Jon Benjamin. And here we are.

Snap me down! Me and my sis loved watching Sniz and Fondue with Mr. Rick "Endless Mike" Gomez voicing Sniz. Holy fruits! That was a good mini-show.

I loved it, too. Even Emo Phillips had his moments.
