I just picked this item to post in because it appeared to be the Herzog item with the fewest posts.

I had a small Herzog flash while listening to the archive of this week's show.  When Tom mentioned the douche on the chat who said there were "not many laughs" this week and said "I'll ban everybody!" I had a little flash of Aguirre on the raft in the final minutes of "Wrath of God," raving about how he'll execute all the traitors, find the Golden Kingdom himself, and found a new dynasty there by siring children on his daughter.

So, Mike, I think for the next marathon, Tom should dress in Conquistador armor and pace the monkey-infested studio ranting about the vengeance he'll visit on the world if those pledges don't pile in.  Please use your "in" with Tom to see that this happens. 'Kay, thanks, bye.

I like it! But I don't think I'll like dressing up like a monkey.

Love those monkeys.

Herzog's story is that he got them by going to a port where a boatload of monkeys was being shipped out for pet stores or zoos or whatever, and posing as an "animal health inspector" who had to examine and approve the monkeys before they could leave.  He returned them when he was done filming--the ones that didn't escape, anyway.

So now I always laugh during that final scene because you can see dozens of them jumping off the raft and paddling furiously for shore.

The idea of Tom as Aguirre is pretty funny.  Maybe "meat is floating by" could be the phone room chant next year.

You would be one fine looking monkey. Also, will there be a Therese and Monkey show this week?

Jillian Barberie, of course.

I think Jillian Barberie has far too much pizzazz to be able to play that passive little milquetoast.

Funny you should ask that.  I was reading Hollywood Reporter the other day and they were speculating that jamesjamesjamesjamesjames.
