I know it's still a little ways away, but Mr. Ted Leo and his Pharmacists will be descending upon the Cat's Cradle in
Chapel Hill Carrboro on April 5, and I was wondering if any North Carolinian FOTs would be interested in meeting up before/after the show?
-
I'm in! (probably) I was wondering how many FOTs were around Chapel Hill after hearing the Therese and Mike Show bed music playing in Nice Price books yesterday. April should be bringing the good NC weather and Carrboro's always fun, so it sounds like a good night. Afterwards, with the FOT momentum, we could all go to the Panera Bread of my former employment and look mildly disapproving at the tired, overworked night managers... or maybe that's better left undone.

I'm in!
-
Already got my ticket.... concert event of my year, and I'd be thrilled to meet some real life FOTs beforehand.
So let's make this a thing big enough for Ted himself to join us, yeah?
-
I have my ticket! I will be there!
-
Sounds like we definitely have some interest! Now, the only question is where and when we want to meet up? I live in Wilmington, so I'm probably not an expert on these things, if anyone else would like to give their 2 cents.
-
The Station is a great non-membership bar and about a 1.5 minute walk from the Cradle. That get's my vote!
-
Is that the place right next to the Weaver Street Market? That's cool with me. You guys just wanna meet an hour before doors open?
-
That sounds good to me.
-
Don't think I'm going to the show (see other posts about my faded enthusiasm for live music, though I found Mr. Leo very charming in person at the FOTMoot) but I MIGHT be able to make the pre-show thing.
I will put a note in my Outlook Calendar.
I will be the one who looks like buffcoat.

Were you and Sarah separated at birth?
-
I think you may have hit on something there, AC. Although Mr. Coat's embryo would have had to have been frozen and brought to maturity many years after I emerged (according to my father, with a full set of teeth, like Richard III).

An hour before doors sounds like a plan.

I hope without the hunchback.

So far.

So, with t-minus a week to go....
-any particular plan for identifying ourselves as FOTs at The Station?
-any ideas on how to inform Ted of our plans and persuade him to join us for a pre-show drink?
-anyone know if there's karaoke in CH on Monday night anywhere? Ted's twitter mentioned he and the band went out for post show karaoke after a gig last week, and seriously... how cool would that be?
Pretty excited about pretty much the concert highlight of my year :-D
-
If anyone wants to eat before, or any other time, I highly recommend Southern Rail, which is the restaurant in which The Station is housed.
-
I need to sing "We Built This Starbucks" at karaoke one day.
Also, at what time are we meeting up for drinks?
-
Just to clarify, we're meeting up at 7 PM at The Station, which is across the street from the Cat's Cradle. I'll be wearing a t-shirt with the Beatles "Revolver" cover on the front. I'm gonna try and send a tweet to Ted Leo about the meetup, so fingers crossed. If anyone wants to meet up earlier for dinner or something, you can DM me on Twitter (@dimattiafilms).
-
I'm going to wear a Jeffrey Lewis shirt and black jeans and probably also a hoodie.
-
I'll be there! Looking for confused people.
-
I will see you there.
WFMU t shirt on.
We should make this a reoccurring phenom.
-
Thanks to everyone who came and hung out. I can't wait to come back to Chapel Hill for another meetup!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some well-earned shuteye......zzz......
