Dang is that podcast funny. I think they'd be so good in studio w/TS.
-
Agreed. The bit where Shunt McGuppin goes on Fresh Air kills me.
-
Funny guys, but could they keep the language to a soft PG?

That's the question, I guess. Don't know enough about those dudes away from the podcast. I just started following them on the twitter.

You should give a listen to their appearance on Comedy Death-Ray Radio #38 with PFT. They show up at about 9 minutes in. They're pretty funny and as far as I remember a blue word doesn't escape their lips.

was that the one where they play their grandmas the whole time?
-
I second that. they killed on CDR. their humor is not dependent on toilet talk or toilet thoughts at all. And I know Tom is a fan, so I think this is something that needs to happen.
-
Would you like a tuna fished sandwich?
-
I can't stop saying "Did you guys see Spidermun 2?"
-
Fact: I've taken to singing "My pecker likes to stay out late" when I find myself alone in a room. Shunt McGuppin is hilarious.

Yes.

I like how the "I can't play the guitar right now because of my arthritis" joke cracks the other guy(s) up every single time. I also like that, despite the very high production value, they leave the laughs in.

Agreed w/ everything above. well, I don't sing about my pecker, but I agree Shunt is hysterical - I've been doing stuff out and about while listening & ended up laughing out loud like a crazy person in the middle of stores.
I always love when the guys can't keep it together and crack up.

I tried to listen to one of the Season 1 episodes from the computer today and it looks like they're now charging to download the episodes (season 2 episodes are still free). It looks like the podcast via iTunes is still free for all episodes, but I don't know if that's going to change as well. If you're thinking of checking the show out (and I definitely think you should), you should probably grab the episodes now while they're still free.

From their Facebook:
Tonight we record with Tom Scharpling and Paul F. Tompkins. If the Earth moves, this why.
-
Those two are tearing up the universe!

Fuck yes. P and T are clearly shopping themselves round town, showing all the weirDOwood execs how cute they are together.

I can say that getting to sit in on a SuperEgo session was as terrifying and thrilling as it gets. Those guys are absolute masters and sitting four feet away from them as they work was a joy. And watching PFT do his thing with them was maybe the funniest thing I've ever seen ever - I'm not going to spoil what went down in the session but it was EPIC.
Tom.
-
Yay! Did you invite them to come on your show Tom?
-
I hope one day these tapes are released in their entirety, like all seven volumes of the Joe's Garage outtakes.
-
I just recently had a SuperEgo season 2 marathon. It's so good. These guys just keep getting better and better.
-
