I got about 2-3 minutes into the first one. If it gets better (you can define that however you want) let me know and I might watch the rest!

Yeah, it's pretty bad. The guy doesn't even work very hard to put inflections into the thing in order to make it sounds like these things occurred to him. It's rote recitation. It's pathetic that he went to the trouble of memorizing all of this. I hope this shit spreads all over the internet so the guy gets shamed down to his core.
I tried to google the guy but all that comes up is a link to these clips. Has anyone found out anything else about him?
PS God bless Patton for working a Powell Pressburger reference into his rant.
-
That is incredible.

He is an actor/comedian named Nick Madson (the videos make it look like his name is Nick Hilltop, but Hilltop is apparently the name of the theater). He has a website and myspace page. That's about it. Just a hack.
-
Doing! That was my problem. I think the videos have hit Videogum, so the guy's basically toast now.
-
The outing of Mr. Madson is causing me to rethink my plan to do Rich Vos jokes at my set tonight. I could only get through about 10 seconds of the clip of him repeating PO's KFC Bowls material. Truly horrifying stuff. A few weeks ago, I did Jake Johannsen's entire 1991 HBO Special, This'll Take About An Hour, at an Open Microphone event. I did it in 45 minutes and everyone loved it. I even ran the gauntlet in the High-Five Zone pre-show! People were cheering so loudly (some were even stomping and chanting) that I came out for an encore and did that Adam Sandler joke about Wilt Chamberlain's teammates telling him that they were open and that maybe he should pass them the ball and not hog it so much en route to his 100 points. The club manager yanked me off the stage to do lines before I could dip into the Mario Joyner stuff.
-
This is honestly difficult to watch.
-
Woah. This is like the kid in 5th grade who would recite all of Carlin's routines, only that kid didn't sound like a motivation speaker at a corporate team building exercise when he delivered the lines.
Also: Videogum? What's that?

In happier news, Patton has hired me to ghosttweet for his official Twitter account launching this weekend.

Woah. This is like the kid in 5th grade who would recite all of Carlin's routines...
Look, I was the kid in 5th grade who would recite Carlin routines to my friends. But even then, as a child, I had enough sense to preface said recitations with, "I watched this George Carlin video last night and he was all like...[insert mangled version of 'A Place For My Stuff' here]."
-
A lot of kids weren't so good about crediting their sources. I lead a sheltered Catholic life, so I thought my friend was a comic genius. Later I find out he stole all his material.
On those lines, the story of the grand meeting of Mike Watt and D Boon involves D Boon going reciting some Carlin routines.
Big difference between doing that for friends and going onstage doing it for money, of course.
I'm sure you and D Boon were WAY better at it than this guy, too.

You guys have never heard of parallel thinking?
-
That's amazingly shameless. Wow.
-
Having lived with a diagnosed pathological liar (and kleptomaniac, long story), this guy looks like a perfect archetype of one. He moves like one, he sends out icy blasts like one.... and the "Yeah, I wrote those for Patton, and Louis, etc.", well, to me that last detail is really funny, but only because it's so horrific. I feel bad for Patton.

And getting more so!

This guy's website is pretty awesome. Here are his "Special Skills": Voice-overs, Accents (French, German, Hungarian, British, Irish, Scottish), rifles, shotguns, handguns, impressions (South Park, Dudley Moore, Ross Perot, The Ladies Man), stilt walking, drives stick, baseball, football, tennis, golf, basketball, snow skiing, conducting, web spinning.
Ross Perot and The Ladies Man impressions! Yo dawg this guy is FRESH!

I've never seen a comedian so bad at making transitions.

I did the Ross Perot ca. '93. Nowadays, who remembers who that was? And is Dudley Moore even alive anymore? Not since 2002.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I steal all of my jokes from A. Whitney Brown.
-
Now who's the more disingenuous asshat? Nick Madson or Christopher Rosen (http://www.movieline.com/2010/05/patton-oswalt-attacks-nobody-for-stealing-material.php)?
At least with Madsonbot, you have a known quantity. Surely, Nick cannot know better because he's wired to not care about knowing better, or what's good for anything but himself.
Christopher Rosen, on the other hand, seems like someone who should know better but is choosing to be a jerk instead to bring someone down who's already been violated. Maybe it's irrational to feel this way, but C. Rosen's piece upsets me a lot more than Madson's recent stunts do.

I swear I just heard a discussion that mentioned that jokes can't be patented. Am I Right?

Let's all pile on this Rosen guy. I left a comment as SDC.

Iwantafailurepileinasadnessbowl because THAT is WHAT I WANT!!!

I haven't watched that far in, but does he do that 'hey it's my birthday, I'm 43' song, too?

Go to 38minutes and 38 seconds
After graduating from an Ivy League school he thought he could get away with this? Illuminating.
-
Disgraceful.
-
You'd think that, being a total poindexter, he would know that everything ends up on the internet, and that Patton would catch wind of this.
-
Don't know if you've seen this, but Stewart Lee on joke stealing...
