I know it's not really funny at all and someone got hurt, but I couldn't help but think of one of the show's all-time great callers.

actually, it's quite hilarious. in this day and age, anyone who decides to run out onto a field at a sporting event has to know that, at the very least, they will be tackled. although it looks like the security guys had a chance to take him down with non-electronic means a few times, then said "fuck it" and just tased the guy.
last year in Oakland, a belligerent fan got tased in his seat. that was a bit more questionable to me. the guy was being a jerk, but it didn't seem like electrocution was strictly necessary.

Steve even called from the park last night, asking for permission to run on the field, as the Phillies hosted the St. Louis Cardinals, the elder Consalvi said.
"He said, 'Dad, can I run on the field? I said, 'I don't think you should, son.' "
"This would be a once in a lifetime experience!" the son said.
Best part.

I can hear the Chariots of Fire theme playing in the background.
And I probably should have looked at the other thread about this before posting the same picture. :-\

I had been on the side of the taz-ee until seeing this photo. After getting a good look at his face, I want to tase him too.

Response from a Philly friend:
"Like Santa Claus (snowballs), JD Drew (batteries) and Michael Irvin (paralysis), this guy had it coming…."

But were you aware that the guy getting tased in Oakland is none other than Epic Beard Man? Seems he has a penchant for getting into scraps:

Deciding to tase the guy is probably more an issue of personal safety, as opposed to mean-spiritedness. Tackling the guy puts you in a lot of danger too (i.e. what if you tackle him while someone else is aiming a taser and you wind up catching the hooks?)
Having done some bouncing in my day, I can vouch for the fact that one prefers not to touch the offending party. I used to carry a stungun on my hip that was about a foot long with two big gold knobs at the end, basically a short bulky cattle prod. If someone got out of line, I'd unholster it. If they continued acting out, I'd hold the handle in for a second so they could see and hear the electricity arcing at the business end. That usually did the trick. There were usually three of us on duty each with one of these wands and yes, we each stunned each other at least once. I don't think I ever used it on a customer.

This must be one of little Royda's friends.
